7 lakhs would be a realistic price. You can quote 8 and have buyers negotiate if they are interested.

Very tricky situation I would say. Actually I m also looking for Petrol Vento or Rapid 2012 and after models. There are great deals on 2013 -14 almost half of the new price around 6.5 L which can be negotiated.

I would suggest you to check showrooms for old stock and discounts available on the variant which you are being offered. And then you can get a rough idea how much you can bid provided you are sure about the car and its history and you know the person well! Buying used car is really risky deal that's what I feel

Just for your info. Extended warranty is void if the car is sold. It is valid only for 1st owner. I got this information from my VW SA when I purchased extended warranty for my Polo.

So if extended warranty is a major decision factor, you won't be able to claim extended warranty coverage.

That's the most hilarious thing I have heard in a bit. He is taking you for a ride. You pay for extended warranty not for yourself but on the vehicle itself. Extended warranty, just like the vehicle is easily transferable. There is an endorsement of sale present in most extended warranty certificates.

With the temperamental DSG, I wouldn't be comfortable without a long warranty period. If there is a risk of the warranty becoming void, I'd rather just walk away from a used VW.

Let me check with VW on the position.

Honestly the possibility of the warranty becoming void didn't even cross my mind. Thanks for the heads up.
