Hope that you have already got your red beauty back. And don't worry about that styling strip. Unpainted doors are black ( you must have seen them by now )
yeah i know doors are black but still original sticker would lookd better as my car is red color.

anyways today went to chk the progress and saw car fitted with new door which were painted, from distance it looked ok upon close observation i found that door color is very different from the red color or the car. i asked the supervisor there and he came and chked and told me yes he also noticed the same, then he tried to tell me that he will be same when polished. i said no it won't polish doesn't change the color. then i asked for the color code book for FIAT cars and he showed me one. i asked him which color you have used from that book, he said furnace RED. then i told him that its formula red rather than furnace red and this model doesn't come in furnace red .

anyways he called someone from dupont paint and told me that he will get it painted again with the formula red color, anyways i will go there again tomorrow if the paint is matching if it is, they will deliver the car in the evening ....

Hey Rahul. I missed this thread all along. Great car and some very nice pics. Some of the angles really look nice. You should get mud flaps; the car is looking a little bald because of that. I used to think the Stile does not look as good as the retro, but your pics have forced me to change my mind.

Why was that BMW logo peeking from behind the car? Cheeky, eh?

Hey, I am surprised you are taking the car right up to 6k though you have done only about 13xx kms. I know how involving this engine is, but really, you should exercise some self control and let the odo read past 5k before you do this. Will serve you better in the long run.

Lastly, sorry about the dent, but I am sure when you get the car back and drive it again, all the sorrows of the past will be wiped out with one nice rev .

Great choice, and enjoy the ride, but do remove the cross from your avatar. The company may be inefficient, but they make great cars.

Can you please post the color code ? When I got my purchase invoice, it mentioned something like this for Canary Yellow one.

CANARY YELLOW, 89A4A.

completely agree with Prabuddha. the car is simply great - its the company / the A.S.S. that should be blamed.

i am sure you will get back your car in shape. all the best.

yeah they make gr8 cars but most of the time its in the service center because parts are not avaialbe or some other stupidity of FIAT management :(

Got the car today and paint job done by the service center people is awesome, can't really tell the difference , doors fitting is also pretty good, rear door was little hard to close but was fixed . anyways they gave me the car without any payment or paperwork as i was in hurry, interiors are little dirty, they asked for one more day for cleaning the interior and fixing the b pillar styling strip but i will get it cleaning and sticker done in next service.

even the front bumper scratches(my car was parked too close to wall and i was changing the wheel when i removed the jack the car moved little forward and touch the building wall and bumper got scratched) are done free of cost

overall i am more than satisfied with the service center and the work. only if the FIAT management was little better

done mate ..... aur hindi aati hai mere ko lol

anyways i am impressed by the VST motors attitude change, when i first went there is was very lousy, the supervisor who never talked to me properly the first time now says sir, at least 50 times lol ..... and gave me the vehicle without payment or any paper work, even i have not given RC book and DL copy for insurance claim, when i asked he said whenever are you free come and give it to us or tell me the address i will come and collect it ......

dunno wat made the change in their attitude but service it excellent now, even i told him about my fight with a service supervisor in their other service center during the first service, he asked for name ...... i didn't remembered the name he said tell me when you come for 2nd service and i will take care of him, he said that we should not fight with the customers, even if they are wrong

i was like WTH, is this the same person who didn't have time to talk to me 10days back, hopefully things will remain same hehe

Non-authorised Service Stations have better body shops?

Hi Rahul

Sorry if this is Off-topic but its interesting your workshop first painted the door in Furnace Red instead of Formula Red. My Stile 1.3 MJD got a ten-foot long dent and scratches thanks to a mad DTC bus driver and a "Vikram" with a protruding guard rail.

Result: Denting required for front fender, both left doors and touch up for both bumpers. Almost entire bottom half of the left of the car to be painted.

Vivek Automobiles, Delhi asked for Rs 12,000/- (I would only pay Rs 1,500/- if I claimed insurance). And asked for 3 days. Thought over it for a long while.

Major concern no 1: I was afraid that my car standing at the workshop for 3 days would be a wonderful source for parts replacement to other cars. (I know I can't avoid it forever, but as far as I can I would want my car to spend least time in any Fiat Service Centre, especially when I am not sitting with them)

Major Concern no 2: I hate my work getting stalled because of an Insurance surveyor who will delay things. I was also almost sure they would stretch 3 days to 4 days atleast.

Decided to go to another garage, and iraghava (Ishaan) referred me to K J A Anthony, a 45 year old garage in Delhi. He quoted Rs 6000/- (I didn't claim insurance) and did the job to my immense satisfaction. I doubt if any Auth workshop would do it that well. Colour matching of the Magnesium Grey is perfect including the pearl finish. I didn't even know the code because its not written anywhere on the car. But he managed to find the right colour just by name. He took four days to do it, but he did it very well.

Whole car was cleaned, polished, dashboard polished, seats cleaned, interiors vacuumed complimentary. Vivek Auto wouldn't do so much. Definitely.

Moral of the Story:
1. If there's no insurance involved and no replacement of parts, denting-painting is best left to a specialist body-work garage. You need to find somebody who has an interest in doing a good job and who likes and understands cars, and quality.

2. If you are not sure, ask around at T-BHP. It helped in finding the right place.

Hello Rahul,
Even in chennai there is a paintshop just behind VST showroom in Anna Salai. The paint shop is in Woods Road.We have given my uncle Palio Stile 1.1 SLX for painting there as he has lot of scratches all over the body. After that i will give my car next week. For my uncle car the cost is 16k as the fender and bumper are broken. But for my car(Siena ELX) it is 5.5k for doing 2full doors,1 bumper,2 quarter panels.

1.2 Siena ELX
