The rainy weather drives have been quite thrilling on the Brute SUV for me.The wiper's have a very well calculated sweep area on the windshield, which nearly cleans the whole surface area to add to the joy of driving.
The wet roads must prompt me, the driver to be extremely cautious as its a SUV and not a car.The high ground clearance must be given credence or else, like the many truckwallahs, if the driver goes about with wantonness the mechanical thing on wheels can topple,Tauba! Tauba! More so on wet roads, when the tyres have lessened grips on the road surface. So the aggressive driving is a "no no" especially during the wet spells. The fact that I am well cocooned inside its tank like build quality gives me all the confidence.
And the worst thing about the monsoons- the exteriors get dirty and have to be pampered a lot. The letdown is when I thoroughly clean it bright and shining ,then come the next rainy spell, maybe within a few hours again MUDDIFIES the SUV. Thats awful but thats life with any motor vehicle and has got to go on in cycles.
Not only the exteriors, the interiors also get mud, filth and all the monsoon dirt especially on the floors. But the Scorpio has a continuously flat floor continuing till the door edge and cleaning it with a brush is a breeze. The dirt, pebbles, mud and all that can be brushed with just a little effort to get the floor matting sparkling clean. The pictures will illustrate what I mean:
My New Refreshed Scorpio LX-sonycamv-063.jpg
Dirt-filled mat with the saviour brush by its side waiting for the sweep.

My New Refreshed Scorpio LX-sonycamv-064.jpg
The cleaned mat devoid hopefully (I'm not a professional cleaner) of all the dirt.

i agree. image my life with a white scorpio! has a trip to shirdi 2 days back. on the return trip, by the time, the vehicle touched mumbai, my white scorpio had changed its colour to muddy brown till it window sill on the sides. the full rear including the number plate & rear glass was dirty except the area the rear wiper sweeps. had it cleaned at a car cleaning shop!

The Authorised Dealer phoned me to say about a FREE CHECK UP CAMP they were organising last Friday and Saturday viz.10th and 11th July. I asked them what all they will check? They said everything and that they will recommend repairs. Since my SUV is brand new I said its not fit for any check up as of now. The I asked them as to whether they would give the SUV a complimentary wash to which they said no.
I told them that since its monsoon more Scorpio owners would turn up if you offer a complimentary wash. They did not budge but said the suggestion is Ok and that they will keep it in mind.
But thanks to the Authorised Dealer here, they at least keep in touch and tell us what's going on.

Actually, In these "Free Checkup Camps", These people check the car for free BUT most of the times they find one or another fault in it, So at the end of the day, That "Free Check up" becomes a "Paid Check up camp!"

Very true -its much like some of the "not so innocent" medical check up camps with the specialists who find some fault or the other in an otherwise healthy body.

Hyundai does this type of service camps with FREE car wash. Several people I know of get their cars cleaned only (exterior only) and no servicing. I missed this last time, will keep an eye, and get it done this time.

The Refreshing job perhaps took the better of the designers engaged for it. These designers were too busy with the frontal looks, the redesigned headlights, bumpers, bonnet cowl, new fog lamps and all other refreshed goodies.
They were then too tired till they reached the last item on their agenda for refreshing-the blessed exhaust tailpipe. And look at what they have done. The older, straight conventional tailpipe was bent at an angle. So far so good. Everything thats straight bends one day or the other or everything thats bent may become straight one day! But just see how it was sliced off. This was on their computer monitors perhaps when the designers were feeling too drowsy. The end portion is quite sharp and can pierce anything that comes its way. This is quite contrary to today's smooth edged and non protruding design lines conforming to the jelly bean shapes.
Can only imagine someone reversing his Refreshed Scorpio that may sometime go out of control and injure someone with this sharp edge.

Meanwhile I am enjoying the drives on my Brute SUV at its best- soon due for the first service.

Thanks a lot pramods for the information. Yes, I was told about it by the Unnati people and feel its best availed after all the free services are through. So thats on my mind after the 3rd service is through.
meanwhile I lost track of your thread about your Scorpio trip to Leh. Hope to see cool pictures.

M &M Marketing Centre, Worli, Mumbai pleasantly surprised me by sending a pen, key ring and a Top Gear card for the Scorpio today by courier. The key ring has the word SCORPIO inscribed on the leather appendage, but the metal ring chrome seems to be weathered and flakes of chrome are seen. Needless to say that I appreciate the spirit behind sending these goodies to customers painstakingly to their home addresses. Kudos M &M !
