Rodeo, even I was thinking of this for my SX4. Are these the ones which clip on to the rear view mirror or does it have a separate screen to be attached to the dashboard?

as far as I know, the reverse camera costs upwards of INR3200;the kit would have a rear view mirror which needs to be installed in place of the stock mirror.

Reverse camera is much useful than a sensor because the pixel rate and resolution of the screen sized 2 inches X 5 inches is very capable of interlacing video clarity. In short, the screen which mounts just below the internal reverse mirror gives virtual view of the rear. I have seen people using it continously as a rear mirror too with the help of a cabin controlled switch. I have seen it install in Honda City and SX4.

@dr.faramroze: Yes, the reverse camera is helpful but to a certain extent. A reverse sensor is more useful for parking in tight spots. A camera does not give much depth perception if there's a plain wall behind whereas a sensor will be able to tell you how much distance you can backup safely.
An ideal condition would be to have both :-)

There must be a position behind the car where the camera can be installed in such a way so as to get a part of the bumper in the picture as well? If this can be achieved, then depth is taken care off. But what is the best position?

I finally got the RD system installed on my SX4:
I got their combo 70 and New TF1000 together (check out pages 2 and 3 on their reverse sensor related pages)
http://www.rdoverseas.in/index.php?p...arking Systems

Works pretty good except for the fact that they seem to have sourced their components from China and the shrill chinese voice calling out the distance and warnings gets on my nerves. Theres no easy way to disable that either. I guess I'll just yank out the speaker wire and rely on the onscreen readouts.

I do not see any need for a reverse camera or sensor in cars or sedans. But this is purely my opinion.I have been driving my safari without using any of these. The reason i do not use these gadgets is because of the dependency created by these gadgets. But if i were to buy one i would go for a camera.
