Best case : you get light which is less than that off a 60/55W bulb
Worst case : Your wiring burns and you are left without a headlight

Halogens work best around 13.5-14V. The voltage at your battery terminals with engine on will be around this range.
Having a thin wire means voltage drop. A 5% drop will reduce your light output by 20%.

Just in case, if I go for Philips crystal/blue/diamond vision H7 (low beam) & Philips crystal/blue/diamond vision H1 (high beam) for optra, how good is it?

Cheers
Hi,

I would try to answer this, as right now i am also struggling into the same thing right now...

What i have rounded off is

low beam - H7 - HID - Cheaper/with warranty BOSCH around 6-6.5 K, on higer end you can go for phillips or any such high end HIDs
high beam - H1 - Philips crystal/blue/diamond vision - should cost between 500-700 depending upon ur choice.

Thanks Ashi but I was given round figure of somewhere 8-9k for BOSCH kit. I'm unsure about it & special care has to be taken while fitting in HID kit in car.
Any suggestions or comments, TEAM-BHP???

Cheers

Gurus,

One more question:

Is it possible to replace the reflectors alone? Are there any performance reflectors?

Regards,

Hi guys,

One update on Vision Plus: I got a reply from Phillips marketing West zone that Vision Plus type of bulb is no longer in their range. So this ends my search for Phillips Vision Plus H7.

Guys could you please let me know how Crystal Vision is mainly for highway driving? and Does Crystal Vision mean white light? Below is an extract from the mail I got:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Abhijeet,
Vision Plus type of bulb is no longer in our range, but i am surprised to know that you could not find Philips automotive products in pune, because i myself have seen all the accessory dealers selling our full range. There are some new products instead of the Vision plus, which are better light out put like Xenon systems,Crystal visions and lot more.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks

90/100W upgrade for Santrp Xing

Sun wiring kit( includes relay) = 500Rs.
Bosch 90/100W Halogens x 2 = 160Rs
Fuse 20Amp x 2 = 10Rs
Fitting = 50Rs
---------------------------------------
Total = 720Rs

No wiring cutting was done!

PMP also has a kit which is similar, plug and play, for same price.

500 is steep. Did it comes with ceramic holders which can take high wattage? Holders are very important. I used a local wiring kit before getting roots 130x2W kit, and one of the holders partially melted.
With roots wiring kit no such issues now.

Not ceramic, plastic I guess but with extra covering. Seems the people came back with issues with 130 and hence asked me to avoid.

Hi all,

I want to mod Optra's lights from company fitted to white light. All your advices will be appreciated.
I heard something about projected lights. Whats that?
How about HID kit? What cost?
what about lights for low beam, high beam & fog lamps?

Kindly give your precious opinions. What cost in total & who's the best dealer for all this in Gurgaon / New Delhi?

Thanks
Vik

Guys, need some help.
1) Are the Octavia fogs H7s? Can HIDs be used as fogs?
2) What are the specifications for the Magnum head lamps and fogs? What upgrade options do I have?
