re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Any updates on the CBR 250 since the launch?
Has it reached India?
April 2011 is a long way.
Hope they decide on the price a bit soon.
It will definitely be a daily use bike and not like the Ninja.
We definitely need more powerful bikes.

An ninja killer to say the least, BTW i have been to the Honda Showroom in Hyd and the pre-booking starts from March.

So if you guys want to be the first one of the lot. Keep waiting for march to book it and the booking amount is said to be 10,000 INR.

Any details,regarding performance figures?
Dont excpect to be in the league of Ninja, but it should be decent enough,to keep ahead of the current crop of indian bikes.

Will the 250R be in line with karizma in respect to the height or will be more like a R15

Price, 1,50,000 for base and 1,80,000 for C-ABS!

30k for safety?

re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

Here's the info as per motoroids :

The new CBR250R is coming this April, and the bookings are starting, guess when? On the 1st of January 2011, as a new year gift from Honda. The company will be announcing the ‘bookings open’ date officially on 29th of December on its website.
The official prices for the bike have also been finalized. The CBR250R –STD (non-ABS) version will cost Rs. 1,50,000 ex-showroom, while the ABS version will cost Rs 1,80,000. The booking amount is a staggeringly low Rs 5,000 only! These are the prices that the company has advised its dealers to share with its customers, although they are still calling them ‘tentative’. The bike will be available in three two-tone colour combos – Candy Ruby Red & Accurate Silver Metallic, Sword Silver Metallic & Accurate Silver Metallic and Asteroid Black Metallic & Accurate Silver Metallic. Honda is also advising its dealers to create exclusive Honda CBR250R counters in the showrooms and have trained sales people stationed there to answer customer queries. The deliveries to the customers will start from April 2011 on first come first served basis.
HMSI is taking special efforts to make sure that the buying experience of the CBR250R customers is really special. Apart from printing ‘premium quality’ leaflets, and a special technical specifications ‘standee’ for the bike at the showrooms, there will be an ‘exclusive’ phone line to answer the CBR250R customers. It’s all good news, as the customers dishing out close to 2 lakh rupees for a bike deserve special treatment. The dealerships are also advised to employ the most experienced sales staff for the CBR250R, and make sure that they are technically ready to answer the questions of the customers. Specific instructions are given to not book more bikes than allocated per showroom.
All the existing customers of Honda two-wheelers should gear up for an info mail, which would hit their mailboxes on the 29th of January to announce bookings for the CBR250R ‘open’. The mail will be accompanied by a no. where the interested customers can call for further enquiry.

re: Honda's 250cc Bike : CBR250R!

I would certainly go for the ABS version, because it may sound expensive initially but would save lots of money by assisting the rider with better and progressive braking. Thus saving money in terms of losses one may bear in case one takes a tumble on the bike. I think insurance does not cover fibre body parts on automobiles.

+1 to that. Although 30K is a steep premium, you cannot put a value on personal safety and life. Consider it an small LIC policy. Given the state of our roads, including some pathetically maintained highways, Combo ABS may make the difference between controlled stop and a really bad spill.
