So many more people were ready to pay upto 2L for the Ninja, they will have a great option now.
Great move Honda.
I think this bike if priced less than 1.5 Lacs as mentioned by Honda Motorcycle India's MD will definitely hit the Karizma and R15. Will be eager to see how the market responds to this bike.

Would they provide a test ride or do like how Ninja booking was done, just by putting a model on display in the showroom?
But I think they won't be varying too much from the 1.5L mark so I guess the one with ABS would probably come OTR at approx 2.2L.

Anything above 1.5 lakhs and this should be a pricing disaster and I dont think Honda would want to do that simply because its their second innings in India given they are no longer with 'Hero'. Another thing is the competition like Yamaha and Bajaj which is developing their own twin cylinder 250cc which will be priced very very competitively.

Where'd you hear this? Very keen to know what Bajaj is cooking, they've been very silent on the Pulsar front.

Thanks for the links. I had seen the links but I was hoping you'd have something else.
If the Motoroids link is to be believed we might hear something about the bike perhaps early next year.

Possible launch by April, 2011

I have been following this thread for a while and finally have something to add.
I'm not sure if you guys knew this already, I saw in the Auto Car show in Bloomberg today that Honda CBR250R is being tested (sorry I could only see the last few mins of the segment). Wow! it looks impressive and as per the rider its not as competent as Ninja 250 in the tracks (anyways this more a commuter bike than a track one) and the possible launch is by April, 2011.

we want commuter bikes, not track bikes. we need bikes on which we can tour the whole India.

Yes, that is the main requirement of majority of bikers. The bike seems to be a great tourer. Insha Allah, I will go for it if it suits my requirements.

Jeepster ~ you seem to have lot of time on your hands
Just kidding - Really appreciate sharing these reports.

All reports seem positive - everything seems good. It has all the signs of a decent sports tourer.

Can we stop comparing the CBR250R with the Baby Ninja.
This is like comparing Ben Johnson running with 1 leg and Carl Lewis running on two legs.
  • If both were priced the same we all know that the Ninja would out sell the CBR 100:1.
  • If the CBR was a twin cylinder being sold at around 1.5L then the CBR would outsell the Ninja 1000:1
Both these bikes are pegged for different segments. Lets leave it at that and talk about the CBR. Anything else should be considered off topic.

I am looking forward to this one
Looks like a perfect upgrade from the Zma.
Hope they get the pricing right.

that trp hungry website should not be believed IMHO.

The bike should be priced somewhere around 1.8L. More than that, it wont be worth it.

1.8 also looks high for a single cylinder. 1.5 L and we are talking.

Its also Honda we are talking about. Nevertheless, its always more satisfying in the end if we keep our hopes low .
