TPMS sensors are small biscuit type things which are stuck to the inner side of the alloy.
They are removable.

There are couple of guys amongst us who have changed the stock alloy and they repositioned the sensors to the new alloys and it works fine.

However, what I am not sure is whether the layer of paint would induce any errors to the reading

Anybody installed/planned a Camera for side view on the Left side / Left RV mirror.
I have some inclination to do a fitment of camera/fender mirror, for seeing the Left side track.
Will one get a good view with the fender mirror on XUV.. asking this doubt, since the front portion of the fender is curved inwards too much.

I have installed the fender mirror on my XUV but in my opinion, it offers very limited viewing. As you have pointed out that the fender is curved inwards, that could be the reason for the limited visibility. That being said, I love the appeal that it adds to the vehicle as a whole

I am planning for the same, but am skeptical as to how it will look on the vehicle. If possible can you please share a few pics of your cheetah.

Thanks. I was not aware TPMS was easily removable. My question was similar to what you mentioned, if a layer of paint will cause wrong pressure and temperature reading. However since you mentioned it can be removed may be easy to mask it while painting or remove and fit again.

You can try buying from here . I picked up four gold cans and they came like this-



Tweaked it a bit for you to visualize in grey as this would hide the brake dust. If you upload a photo of your ride will be able to change the color to grey.

TPMS costs 1700 including tax (one set).
I had changed the OEM alloys to "Sporty Speed Rim" when I took the delivery.
I was warned by my Sales Guy that the TPMS might not be working once removed from the original alloy from their past experiences
He was reluctant to change the alloys for this reason.
But anyways I went ahead with changing the Alloys with new TPMS.
Didnt even bothered to try and remove the TPMS from the factory fitted Alloys

I bought them 2 years ago which costed slightly over 14k. They are way better than the JK's, no road noise whatsoever and rides softer than the bridgestones IMO.

Also the size is 255/60 and may jut out a tiny bit even on stock wheels with 7J width.

Oh, so did you exchange your original unused tyres with these the moment you bought your XUV? Any idea how much do they cost without exchange?

14+k was the price without exchange. And I bought 5 of them back then.

While I was looking out for a softer rubber this was the only option available and Dunlops (meant for Fortuner) but I guess now there must be alot more options.

Could you share the pricing of the tyres that you've already checked and shortlisted.

For 14K you can have Bridgestone and Goodyear. Under 10K you get Maxxis and Apollo. Any idea how Maxxis are?
