Was at Harpreet Ford Gurgaon yesterday for my monthly follow up on delivery! They confirmed that all Ecosport bookings have been stopped, irrespective of the Engine and variant.

Estimated delivery of my Ecosport (1.0 Titanium O) is now pegged at 3rd week of Jan 2014. It was booked on 22nd July 2013.

Part of me is considering to delay it by another month and look at soon-to-be-launched options at the Auto Expo. But the other part says that, with the exception of XA Alpha, there won't be any compact SUV in the market for the next 8-9 months and probably not in this price range either.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

What is happening to the Ecosport sales numbers. In October it shows 5115 and in November has dropped to 4392.
Concentration of Ford where it rakes in profits - Exports?

Cheers!

Or is it the stocking of cars so as to cash on the (rumored) January price hike?

Somehow feel that ford guys were not expecting this big a jump in their fortunes with the launch of ecosports. The scene will get interesting when maruti launch their xa alpha. Since it's a maruti am sure they will cater to all pockets. Guess ford is not serious with Indian market.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Has anybody of the fellow forum members tried the attached DRL lights?
It was asked by my FB friend for his EcoSport.
Looks like they are doing a Ssangyong like DRL's (single milky color - no indicators)
Its done by someone called :-

Fc-Unit
Booking & Demmo office
Wz/4a ; Mukherji park
Tillak nagar
New Delhi -110018
( opp Tilak nagar police station )
http://fcunit.com/

Has any fellow member done any work from them?
How are they at Quality, reliability (party&product) and overall?

Many thanks

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Something that I noticed:

Car is locked, passenger gets down, central locking is now disabled when the passenger door is open. The passenger tries to open the rear door from outside but it's locked. The central locking button on the dash shows that it's OFF. To open it the driver door has to be opened or the central button needs to be pressed twice (First press activates the central locking and second press disables it).

Anybody noticed this?

Naveen, it happens in my Titanium(O) too. Though not logical, relieved that the two press option finally opens the door. Have had people stare at me when I claim that door is indeed open and they are not able to open.

I guess that's the way it works ? I found this when i tried to unlock the boot door by pressing the unlock button on panel , we need to press twice to make that happen.

Just the way it is supposed to work. Ideally they should have given another led on the same button to indicate that one of the doors is open but the rest are still locked - but they have not done that so this is the best that is possible with the door lock indicator going off. Happens to me as well all the time with Wifee opening her passenger side door to get off before I switch off the vehicle.
