I too agree that the horns are not meeky compared to other OEM horns. Anyway even after a discussing for a long time with the branch manager it did not work and they did not agree to fix the windtones for me. I have temporarily postponed the same.

Its clearly a mistake.
1.ecosport's headlamp is H4.
2.fog lamps are h11s.

These are just bulbs with a whiter appearance but not brighter output.

The DRLs are not available as an accessory from ford.

Please advise.
You can get them fixed with tapping clips, it will not void warranty.

I had booked my ford ecosport TDCI TITANIUM on 22nd July still awaiting for any news about the car from the dealer riddhi ford. This will be my first car (just turned 18) now that the new Honda city has launched am confused whether I should hold on to the booking or go on for the new city.
The car will be the self driven and ease of maintainance and Good fuel economy are important considerations. Please help.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Hey guys, have any one of you put the sun film to your ES ? is it legally allowed to get a tint upto 30% ? (i.e. 70% visibility?)
I just feel it makes the car look better. But I dont want to do something highly illegal.

Honda City is "unveiled" and NOT launched. It will take another 2 months for launch and if you don't do a prebooking, that may be another Ecosport story with backlogs running into months. I suggest you hold on to your booking till you either hear from one of those.

ANY sun film is illegal. And there is nothing called highly illegal or simply illegal - it's plain ILLEGAL if you are NOT sticking to the rules. If you are using even light tints which cops can make out, then you are inviting trouble.

I had booked mine on June 26th and got delivery this Sunday i.e. November 24.

Mine was Titanium (O) and hence the delay, lower versions are being delivered very fast, moreover, the deliveries have been increased a lot recently and i strongly suggest you wait a bit more. Trust my word when i say its worth it !

I have seen couple of Ecosports with sunfilms. AFAIK, any sun film as of now is illegal especially in Kerala. For your reference, here's one with sun films (black Ecosport). Clicked this when I went to 3M. As you pointed, it does make the car look even better.

EcoSport is a vehicle worth waiting for, I am telling this after driving one for over a thousand km. (Mine is EcoBoost engine).
I would recommend wait and it will be worth. EcoSport diesel gives good fuel efficiency also.
However what Honda will give you is much better build quality and bulletproof relibility associated with the brand and better dealer network also. Though these two things are actually relative as there are a lot of people with whom Ford has also been extremely reliable and if you live in city then finding a dealer or workshop is not a problem.
Final thing is the "Coolness" factor....
HONDA CITY doesn't stand a chance in front of EcoSport especially if you are in college.
So buddy take your pick.

Ford does not have DRL as an accessory. And please elaborate about "kind of DRLs" for larger interest.
Thank you

Any kind of sunfilm is illegal.
Only the OEM tinted glass from the company is allowed.

DRL in Ford's term would be parking light (to confuse customers so that they will be buy it) . From what i know it's normal bulbs. They just replace the stock bulbs with white ones.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Got my Ecosport Diesel Titanium (O) Chill Delivered on Sunday, 24th November from Riddhi Ford, Delhi!

I've fitted the 3D Mats by Star Car Mats and they fit perfectly and haven't faced any issue with them with reference to fit, finish and fiddling with pedals et al. No need to cut them too!

Came with MRF, shall be getting them changed today. The Controls need time to adjust to since I'm coming from an i20.

Booked on 30th June, 2013 - Alloted on 29th October, 2013 - Reached Dealership's Yard on 7th or 8th October, 2013 - Took Delivery on 24th October, 2013! Hence, Actual Delivery Time (till it reached Dealership's Yard) turns out to be 4 Months 10 Days.

The two weeks delay in taking delivery largely accounted for the first week being a busy one and latter being the lack of communication on the part of the Lady who handles the Registration, wasn't a good experience. Left a concern regarding this with the Dealership.

Gautam, ordered them from Sai Mag Wheels. Rather went to their Rama Road Office and collected myself since I was also interested in checking out the new range of Alloys they got!

Fits perfectly well, no need to cut (haven't faced any issue) and yes, official price is 3200! A Team BHP reference entitles you to a discount and final price is 2500, only if you collect from their Office (Behind Hans Hyundai, Moti Nagar) or otherwise ask them to Courier it to you, charges being 300 more since they use Bluedart Courier.

Call up Gautam Ratnabhas at +91 9811333716 and tell him Tanveer from Team BHP referred me, shall do the job! You can check out their thread at:

Thanks for the help. Am in a medical college in Delhi and the food dealership is less than 500 meters from the college. My dad is a Toyota / Honda fan and we have a fortuner, innova, crv and jazz at home. His ford escort have him alot of trouble in maintaining and has very poor resale. I just hope relaibility and after sales are not too bad from Ford otherwise the ecosport is an excellent package.

@ToyotaFan, I think you should prioritize your requirements and then it will be an easy decision. Pros and cons of both:
Ecosport being a sub 4m car will be easier to maneuver and park in city. The city is 4.4m long and will be slightly more difficult to manage. The turning radius will also be higher.
Ecosport with its high GC of 200 mm will manage potholes and speedbreakers better - though you will need to slow down due to its stiffer suspension. The new city has an even longer wheelbase and unless Honda has increased the ground clearance, this may be a minus.
The Ecosport looks recent, futuristic while the city in terms of appearance is not significantly different from its earlier avatara - from the side view one can't tell the difference. See if you care about looks - evaluate this.
Ecosport will offer you smaller boot space I guess (Honda City all specs are not out yet but the Amaze offers 400L to Ecosport's 346,and the City being a higher segment should at least match it if not exceed it).
Quality of interiors is OK in Ecosport but in City I am sure you can expect it to be superior.
Since you are a first time driver - the ES's limited surround view (it has several blind spots) may discomfort you a bit.
The new CITY's mileage is an unknown quantity, but the Earth Dreams technology promises a good mix of power and efficiency. The Ecosport Diesel will comfortably give you 17-18 on a mix of city & highway drive in the long run. I feel the CITY will be a fraction lower, being a larger, heavier vehicle.
HONDA currently has better dealer presence in Tier 2 cities than Ford.
I don't think the waiting period should be a concern as you should get your ES in the next 2 - 3 months and the CITY is not available yet. I don't think you will be able to get the new CITY before the booked ES.
In any case, welcome to the driver's club and wishing you many happy miles with whichever car you buy.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Visited the Ford showroom today to check out the Ecosport. Must say the car had a nice fit and finish to it The only problem is that if booked now then the delivery will only be in July end-August, that's 9 months!

So I'm thinking of going for the 1.5P trend model for a total of 7.8L onroad. Can any owner of this particular 1.5 model give real-time KMPL figures and also what are the service costs as such?
