I believe it was resolved. I will post the comments after some usage in my car.

1. OEM battery (Exide) still exists - still running 5 years - Service Adviser informed to change the battery, any time it will give up
but I feel it is running fine - They quoted 4.5 K (5.5K - 1K (exchange) = 4.5K) Amaron battery with 2 years warranty. I said a big no to them.

I checked the local dealer
They quoted
Exide 4 K (5K - 1K (exchange) = 4K) - 55 months warranty
Amaron 3.8 K - 24 months warranty
I can't comment on the other items but would advise to pay attention to the battery replacement. I had similar issue - trip meter used to reset when parked overnight. New battery fixed the issue.

Batteries now a days do not necessarily give any warning sign and may die suddenly. This is specially important given that we might not have driven the car much during pandemic hence the battery might be losing life faster. You can change it at any reliable battery shop, it should cost about 4k-4.5k. Hyundai ASS tends to charge slightly higher so you can take a call.

Would suggest Amaron with 48 months warranty (or even more if your budget permits) over Exide.

Yes. I am seriously looking into changing the OEM Battery (Exide.) Surprised to see this OEM battery still running for 5 years.

The trip reset issue was discussed enough times in this thread already.
But there is no proper conclusion for this issue.
A long-running battery leads to a MID Trip reset ->Is this solution for a trip reset?

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 : Official Review

Today I got the Wheel Alignment, Wheel Balancing at Madhus Tyre Centre, Wilson Garden, Bangalore. I am visiting this place for Wheel Alignment, Wheel Balancing for the First time.
Today I went around 11.45 AM. Thank god! not largely crowded at that time. After that, there was a couple of cars in a queue line. All the procedures are completed within 40 minutes.

The total bill cost Rs.1404. Overall good experience with Madhus Tyre Centre today .

Seeing your post little late.
I too own grand i10 2018 petrol Torque converter.
From day one I felt pickup was low. Everytime I go for service I used to give this complaint to Service Advisor, but everytime they simply say for Auto pickup will be less and nothing done. As time pass by I am used to it.
Couple of weeks backs I gave for service at Advaith hyundai ITPL,Bengaluru. This time I didn't complaint about pickup, but after service felt that there is a quite noticable difference in pickup.
I asked SA whether the engine tuning is done, he said that the throttle is cleaned as part of regular service and that is the reason for the improvement in pickup.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techn...ml#post5218302 (Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?)

Replaced Exide battery with a 55-month warranty (30 months free + 25 months pro data) last month.
Nearly one month of usage of the new battery and I am monitoring the MID Trip meter for the past one month, TRIP auto-reset not happening now whenever I start the engine and the Trip reset issue is resolved now.

Folks - I'm looking at changing the stock tyres of my grand i10 bought in 2015 and done 30k km to date. The car is strictly used in the city in peak traffic usually for not very long distance. I might change/upgrade the car soon. What tyres could I go for?

If you are planning to sell the car in very near future, is there a reason you want to change the tyre? If it is indeed required, you may chose JK or similar like MRF, Ceat etc (budget brands) as there is no point investing in premium ones if you anyway plan to sell the car soon.

If you plan to keep the car for some more time, then I'd recommend Bridgestone (balance of performance and durability) or Yokohama earth1 series. Michelin is also good performance but soft compound so not suited in poor road conditions.

Yep, the reason is multiple punctures happening since the last couple of months.

You may read the details here (Hyundai Grand i10 & Xcent : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread)

All the best and safe rides.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 : Official Review

Eight uneventful years and 45,238 kilometers with my Hyundai Grand i10 have finally ended.

Key highlights:

Make: Hyundai
Model: Grand i10
Spec: 1.2 P MT
Trim: Sportz
Year of manufacture: 2014
Purchase: February 2014
Sale: August 2022
Kilometers at time of sale: 45,238
Reason for sale: Upgrading to an automatic with essential safety features

Now the story (not a long one). Let's rewind to 2014. Our 2004 Ford Ikon was just shy of 100,000 kilometers and was showing electrical gremlins by the day. We had a 2008 Mahindra Scorpio as our primary car and needed something a little smaller and more manageable as a second car in the city.

Cars test driven: Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Figo, Maruti Ritz, Maruti Swift, and Hyundai Grand i10

The winner was clear. The Grand i10 was head and shoulders above the competition. The refinement, features, and perceived quality of interiors and exteriors, the dealership experience were way above everything else at the price point (and, to be fair, are still pretty good even by 2022 standards).

The Grand i10 served us exceptionally well for eight years, taking us across South India on road trips comfortably, aside from braving the outrageous Bangalore traffic 95% of the time.

It was perfect in terms of dimensions for tight parking spots and narrow lanes and extremely well-suited for newbie drivers to cut their teeth. The only negatives were the battle scars (and thankfully nothing more) that it accumulated from Bangalore traffic over the years.

It has been utterly reliable. Regular servicing aside, the only significant costs were:

- Batteries once every four years
- A new set of tyres in early 2020 at 38,000 kilometers
- A new clutch in March 2022 at 42,000 kilometers
- An AC condenser replacement in June 2022 at 44,000 kilometers

It returned an average mileage of 12kmpl throughout the eight years. It was always serviced and repaired at Advaith Hyundai, Outer Ring Road, Bangalore.

And now for some pictures.

The car through the years:

The car was sold to Spinny at 70% of its 2014 on-road price (not sure how many cars other than Toyotas hold their value in this way).

In all, of course, I'm extremely sentimental about letting her go — first car (for me) and all that. But I'm also looking forward to the upgrade (the waiting period has had me itching).

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 : Official Review

A well maintained car always has a good asking price in the market. It's great that you were able to recover 70% of the cost. I think quite a few cars in the used markets have steep asking prices courtesy the long waiting periods of new cars and the never ending chip shortage issue. I think the car has also not run a lot (45k for a car is pretty low). Good luck with your new purchase.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 : Official Review

My friend whatsapped me the following...

Do any i10 AT owners have any insight on if this is normal, or what the issue could be?

My mom got a new i10 automatic. She says that on hills it’s not holding and rolls back, needing the handbrake. That doesn’t sound normal for an automatic and it looks like the RPM is low. Any clue if it’s normal or what it could be?

The current i10 NIOS has an AMT box right? Not a TCAT. In case of AMTs, if the gradient is steeper than what the default idle creep of the gearbox can manage - the clutch disengages & the car rolls back. Unless the car has actual hill-hold feature (a-la Nexon AMT) - its normal for an AMT to roll back on a steep incline I think. Throttle input is necessary. At least thats how it behaves in my Alto AMT.

If the car is advertised to have a hill-hold feature - then this is definitely a problem & should be reported.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 : Official Review

Hi all,

I own a 2017 Grand i10 Sports AT and have a couple of questions about this:

- My suspension has been very hard, is it normally the case with i10? We feel all the bumps going over potholes and speed breakers. It is much worse compared to my Baleno (2017 also) which has much better experience over same roads. Is there any way to help soften the suspension or get it changed to a different one? I keep tyres normally at 32psi, will keeping it lower help?

- Front passenger window up button has failed couple of times, on the passenger door switch. I need to bring it up using driver side control. Got it fixed twice at Hyundai service center, but appears to be recurring. Is there something which can be done to fix this?

Thanks.
