Nothing wrong with the Castrol, it is a good and vfm oil but if your driving is almost exclusively short city trips then you may need to change oil more frequently than at the 1 year / 10k mark.

Showroom stuck to their promise. Headlights were replaced under warranty within two days of the service.

One interesting thing about the new pair of lights, they have a slight gap between the main reflector & parking+indicator section.

May be this will solve the issue once for all.

Please post a picture of the new reflector. I haven't checked the condition of mine although my night running is not much. Probably I can get it replaced as well.

Ford service centres keep changing their oil brand for some reason. I remember they were using Shell when I had my old gen petrol Figo. Not sure if it differs from engine to engine.
The first few thousand kms is good since the engine oil is fresh. The NVH goes for a toss once the oil is around 5k kms old. The good thing is since it is mineral oil, it is affordable to be replaced every 5k kms and continue to enjoy the smoothness which is good for the engine too.

Castrol doesn't have any oil meeting that Ford 1.5L TDCi engine specification (WSS-M2C913-D). That is what I am unhappy about.

Kindly check the pictures.

I remember the original one having the main reflector more tightly attached towards the rest of the indicator & parking lamp section.

Here in this new one's, the gap is bit more than previous one.

Thanks.

Not available in the open market in India you mean. Castrol Magnatec Professional is the oil, and only sold in bulk to car service centres and dealers.

This oil is the closest of theirs in spec that is on the open market. https://www.castrol.com/en_au/austra...-5w-30-a5.html - ok apparently available in India as well. https://www.amazon.in/Castrol-MAGNAT.../dp/B00PMZVZJS

Note - if you check the manual any good 5w30 A5/B5 oil will do the trick. The Ford spec adds some additional Zinc additive (ZDDP) for timing chain wear. I personally have tried Idemitsu A5/B5 5w30 and it is quite good, in the short term a lot smoother than the OEM oil .. no zinc additive for timing chain wear though.

Mobil Super 3000 X1 also has the Ford WSS-M2C-913C/D spec by the way. It too is a decent oil, but like Castrol I wouldn't stretch it past the 7500 mark if I'm using it on city travel.

I have driven much more in highway condition but no issues there.
I have experienced this couple of times too. The last time I felt it was just last weekend when I was climbing a small ramp to the service centre and this was not with too much running before. I did not bother since being a diesel, I was expecting clutch judder earlier than in a petrol and moreover since it had happened just once or twice and 99% of the time, the clutch release is fine.

There is a related discussion goin on the Creta review thread. Here is the link.

Our issue isn't very uncommon. I did some digging & there are many similar reporting with different vehicles here in Team Bhp itself. Most of the oddo readings are way earlier than actual clutch plate replacement possibility.

Thanks.
Visited the service centre today to check on the headlamp warranty replacement and rear camera since it works intermittentently.

They were very fast in saying the fog lamp is aftermarket since it had yellow bulbs in it. Explained to them it is the same specs as the original one and it is just the bulb that is yellow. After some stern talk and asking them to explain how the headlamp reflector can get burnt because of the fog lamp being yellow, even after the company has acknowledged it is an issue, they placed an order for it. They didn't have the Sports headlamp in stock. I have a feeling the replacement will be of the same quality because of this.

As for the mirror, it was the same dilly-dallying. They finally decided to get a spare mirror and check if the issue persists after me suggesting the same which of course they didn't have. As always, the issue never happens when I am there, so took a video when it happened yesterday and showed it to them. I also noticed it happens in the dark. Looks like something to do with the sensor, but the technician wanted to remove the bumper to check the camera for which I had to leave the car for the day. I was against that and they decided to check with a spare mirror when I go next week to fit the new headlamps.

Fingers crossed.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

A new irritant cropped up since yesterday. A rubbing sound when shifting gears from the bottom of the gear lever.
It is almost like a dried ball joint It is not too loud, but now I can hear it all the time since I know it is there. Gearshifts are fine and not hard, but wondering how suddenly the sound cropped up on every gear shifts. The service centre guys were constantly engaging reverse gear to check for an issue with the rear view camera recently. Not sure if that has affected anything.
Has anyone experienced this. My car has just crossed 19k kms.

Not experienced this personally, but remember reading some time back in Mobike008's ownership review where he has got some part in the gear system lubricated with a 3M lubricant. Unable to dig out the post now but I remember reading about it. Maybe lubricating it would help.

Anyone feeling the stiffness of the accelerator pedal? I was happily driving untill my brother mentioned that the accelerator is stiff. After that even I am feeling the same. While depressing or releasing the pedal I feel it goes in miniature steps rather than soft sweep.

Without another new car to compare, it's hard to judge. But I guess dust accumulation may make it feel hard. Cleaning the base & bit of lubrication may get it back to original shape.

I don't know if it is exactly the accelerator pedal, but I've always felt I need to exert more force to get the car moving than with other cars. Complained it to the ASC, but they didn't find anything abnormal. Complained another time and they said they lubricated the pedal, I don't believe much.

I am looking to fit a oil catch can in my car. The PCV pipe is a fat one on this engine.

Anyone has any clue of a catch can available for this engine which can be purchased?

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Ford maintains Transmission Oil lasts the lifetime of the vehicle and no replacement is needed, is that really true?

For manuals, gear oil can last for a long time without requiring a change, and with periodic topups at most. Still, some manufacturers recommend lifetime while others recommend changing every 4-5 years. If Ford or other manufacturer says such a thing in their service schedule, you can rely on it that they've tested this extensively.
