For the Jeep Compass/Meridian, a remap is a must. It transforms a slow and heavy feeling vehicle into a missile.
What are negatives of doing this? Does this void our Warranty? Does it impact the Mileage?
Thank you for your quick response. Sorry for bothering you a bit.

Thanks for sharing your inputs regarding the remapping of your Jeep. Could you please share the cost of the same and how long did it take to get it done? Are there any cons to remapped?
Thanks in advance

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

You're welcome guys. No negatives per-se, just it's a risk you're willing to take for performance gains, at the same time maintaining the engine by doing oil changes at right intervals and avoid thrashing the engine, would improve longevity. Warranty void issue is there, but I would personally take the risk if the Remap company has enough experience and has good credibility. I have done my tuning from Wolf Moto, Coimbatore. You can Google and check with them regarding availability for your city. I paid ₹35,000/- for it, have driven around 3500 km since remap and vehicle has been performing very well.

Hey guys, an urgent query.

I am currently driving from Lucknow to Varanasi.

Whenever I am putting my vehicle in P, the P light is flashing (blinking) on the gear selector as well as the MID screen. It's a petrol model S AT.

It's performing normally, the hand brake is engaging and disengaging as it should when put in P and out of it to D.

Only issue is, it's gear indicator light is blinking continously when put in P.

Thanks a lot man!

Although my problem wasn't the same, but your solution pointed me in the right direction.

There was a sticker outside on my windscreen, half stuck-half fluttering. It started resonating with the engine vibration I guess, when my vehicle went over 80 Kmph. The sound was so amplified that it felt like a static or sparking inside the cabin. As it was on the left side of my windscreen, it gave an impression of sound coming out of left speaker.

Lol.

How often is this happening? This happened to me a few times when I tried changing between PRND too quickly and I believe this can happen if the GCT overheats. The sales chap I bought it from told me to stop the car for 10-15 minutes and then proceed as normal.

It's been happening continuously since I started my journey. It's driving normally but whenever I am putting it in P, the indicator light is blinking. Same on MID, drive indicator P is blinking.

I stopped the car for more than few hours and when I restarted, it was the same.

I don't video file attachment is allowed here, otherwise I would have shown the recording what exactly is happening.

I would advise you to call RSA or take it to the nearest Jeep Showroom. Even if it turns out to be nothing, better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I am presently sitting in the service centre. They haven't been able to diagnose the problem as yet. Software check hasn't returned any error code.

Strange.

An update. Posting as a separate comment as I don't see the option to edit my previous comment.

They were busy looking at it electronically and from software point of view.

I had this feeling that it's more than that because when I was moving the gear shift from R to P it kind of felt free and without any resistance. It shouldn't feel like that. The parking pawl is engaged when you shift to P.

I told them to switch off hand brake and put in P, turn off the engine and see if it rolls back. It is rolling back. As if it's in neutral. The transmission isn't locking.

Anyone with any suggestions, on what it could be. They haven't been able to locate the problem as yet.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

The state of affairs with Jeep India is very sad. Here in Goa, which i believe has one of the densest population of JC, there is no service centre operating for the last 4 months. JC owners have to drive down 200 kms for servicing. I myself bought the JC in 2019 looking at the brand value. Ofcorse I found the JC's performance ninch above all the competitors. But the way things are going now for Jeep it is presenting a very sorry picture. The overpricing and now administrative mess, no wonder the numbers are going down drastically.

@T. Singh you're welcome
Any members have experience with removing the 80/120 km/Hr warning beep in Jeep compass face-lift? It's most annoying especially after the Remap since the vehicle hits the ton in no time.

One SA told me that they have no knowledge of new RDE petrol engines or whether Jeep will introduce it or not. Another SA told me that a new petrol engine is being tested at present and will be released soon and this could bump the price also.

I am in two minds whether to buy the old variant (which is on discount) or wait for the RDE compliant version.

I have few questions -

1) Is it possible that Jeep will come up with a better petrol engine (by better I mean more or same power with better FE)?

2) Will the RDE compliant engine be also E20 compliant? As E20 compliance is not made mandatory

3) How can Jeep sell non RDE compliant engines after 1st April 2023? Will there be any problem in car registration (though SA is saying there will not be)?

Thanks

There is still no news about re-launch of Jeep petrol engine. There is nothing in the media or social media about Jeep compass (neither discontinuation of petrol engine or relaunch). Jeep SA are also clueless (as they are always been).

Long ago I had enquired about this with GermanDna and they said it can be removed. Since the quote was on higher side, I didn't go for it.

They are specialized in OEM retrofits for VAG cars based in Thrissur.
When I enquired about the speed chime removal for Jeep Compass, they were ready to do that. You can contact then on Instagram handle 'germandna_india'
