Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello XUV700 owners, I found an issue during a TD, checking if this is sorted now in the production cars.

Use case: I want the sun roof's primary blinds sheet to be pulled back without opening the sun roof but the TD cars couldn't do that. The sun roof has to be opened for the sun roof's blinds sheet to also move back. Once this action was completed the sun roof has to be closed but the blinds sheet can be retained in the open position. This doesn't help as invariably the sun roof has to be opened. In a rainy situation, it is expected to open the blinds to enjoy the rain falling on the roof. But this sun roof open action would spoil the scene.

The MG Hector works perfect for this use case. How is the XUV700 fairing now?

The sunroof switch has 2 step operation, If you just gently press it, it only opens the blind and the full press will open both the blind and sunroof. There is an option to open sunroof for ventilation. Please see below video for details.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Apologies for not posting an Initial Impressions review of my AX7 P AT yet guys. After having successfully avoided the first two waves of this pandemic, seems my luck finally ran out. Diagnosed with COVID and hence out of sorts for a bit. Third wave has hit home! Hoping to post a review by next week.

Many congratulations to our fellow forum members who have received deliveries of their XUV 700s recently.

Wish you and family a speedy recovery on the xuv front watch out for the battery drain issue being reported by few new owners, assuming the vehicle will be unused for sometime.

The entire sky roof operation is controlled by a single button. It's pretty unintuitive, check the following chart for various functions.

Re: Blue Bolt - Mahindra XUV700 AX7 MT P - Initial 1000kms Ownership Review

Hearty congratulations for your new buy and wish you happy driving.

I find that many are preferring the petrol engine over the diesel. Anything above 11 kmpl is quite OK for a beast of this size.

As regards the RTO and Transport Commissioner's office recording the ex-showroom price at Rs 40,000/- above the actual price you paid, it's a valid case for a consumer court. Or else, if TN state has appointed a Lok Ayukta you can send xerox copies of the documents with a complaint for refund of the excess amount charged.

As regards the software niggles, that's inherent in the Generation I, XUV 700's. And about the SUV getting soiled easily, maybe the Dazzling Silver shade better endures this malady. The older Mist Silver shade of M&M endured dust and soiling the best among all its shades, but it has been discontinued some years back.

Congrats on your new ride and wish you memorable miles

Quick question on the audio setup since you have the non L variant - how much of a step down is it compared to the Sony setup you must have experienced in test drive vehicles? And does it come with a sub? Do you see yourself upgrading/adding speakers in the near future?

It will not be fair on my friend for me to leak out that detail, he had told me in confidence, hence i shared the plight with you all so you should also know, having said reach out to any dealer with that money and you sure will get the car. I for one thought the premium would be Rs 1-1.25 lakh (like in case of Thar) but Rs 2.3 Lakh is a high amount, speaking volume of the marketing brand Mahindra has built.

Depends on the urgency, Imagine if one had promised an XUV during the wedding. 2-3L premium is nothing really, this sort of thing happens once in a while, as you mentioned with Thar as well and sometime ago Seltos, the XUV5OO, the diesel Swift etc were sold at a premium.

Some XUV700 owners are reporting the blank digital Instrument panel during the drive and on starting up the car.

I also experienced the same issue last week. Car was left idle for 5 days, and on the sixth day, battery was completely discharged. As the car is an automatic, had to call RSA to get the car jumpstarted. The RSA guy was not able to pinpoint any issue though, and I was thinking of it as a one-off.

However based on what you and other owners are pointing out, it could be a larger issue perhaps with the Adrenox system, which leads the car to consume significant battery on standby. This really takes away from the reliability of the vehicle, and could also be detrimental for the health of the battery in the long term

Is there a way we can escalate this as a larger issue to Mahindra? Not sure if there is anything much we can do on our end as users to resolve this.

Full marks to the dealership for making it into a mini celebration. My Mahindra dealer who sold me my replacement XUV500 three years ago was hopeless in comparison. These small steps of going above and beyond make a long lasting impression.

Elegant Auto retail provides seat covers for cars with seat airbags. They say it will not interfere with the seat airbags and is specifically designed for this purpose only.
