How old is the Battery? Looks like the culprit to me!

LOL: Thats how I felt when we had the Fiat UNO Jubilee Edition a decade ago and now I'm back with 2 FGP EPs.

Their automobile engineering and VFM makes one overlook the poor service and all silly problems associated with the brand.

Just Imagine IFF FIAT India had better service

I too had the same problem last year in my fiat linea. I had got the battery changed, after which there was no problem.

In fact you can do a load test your current battery to test your existing battery. Load test on my old battery failed and I had replaced it.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Started to get a squeaking sound when the rear wheels go over a hump . This started after a long 2000 km drive.

Anything in the suspension , or something in the underbody ? Car is almost 3 yrs old , 38,000 km on the odo. Service due next week.

Check rear seat folding mechanism, it was the reason for rear rattle in my car.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

On occasions, my Punto refuses to start at first try. This has started to happen since I last refueled my car. Could suspect quality diesel be the reason for this? It does not happen every time though.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

How much does the 4th paid service typically cost ? Mine is a MJD E pk.

I need to change my gear oil, coolant and brake fluid as well this time.

Around 8-10 K I would guess ?

My last service cost ~8.5K including engine oil, gear oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering oil change. However, mine was a "free" service (24 months), so no labour charges.

It could also be a slight misalignment of the boot door. Happened with me a couple of times - you may want to check that.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

How is the space for a tall driver i.e. does the left leg hits against the center console. I test drove the Polo and my left leg went through an ordeal in a ten minute test drive. thanks

shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am 6'1" and the punto's seat is a snug fit for me. The front seat space is large and airy. Use the height adjustment lever and lower the seat if you feel too claustrophobic during the TD.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

^^:

The Fiats Have a eccentric rail and the drivers seat moves from low to high as we move closer to the steering.

Re: Fiat Grande Punto : Test Drive & Review

Guys I hear a small rattling sound in my AC vent/ Dashboard when the car is in idle. I have left the car for 1st service last saturday, the tata guys are still working on it and couldn't find the cause even after three days.

Did any your Punto had this problem? Mine is MJD dynamic.

Thanks,
Sridhar

Yes. This is a minor one though. I feel you are making it worse by asking TASS guys to fiddle with it. Just pump up the music and enjoy the drive. If yours is a 2012 model, am sure you should be having the infamous left front door rattle. The dashboard rattle is nothing when compared to this.
