Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

Yes, Fiat Italy is taking note. Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne is unhappy with the Tata JV and has stated that steps will be taken to change the relationship.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

Spotted 2 T-Jets in a span of 10 mins. Its my first time spotting a T-Jet in Pune. Its also sad in the sense that Pune is the hub for Fiat and they dont sell much in Pune.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

In Mumbai also one hardly gets to see any T-Jets. I have just seen one on the road. The old Lineas are popular but not the T-Jet - a pity. I understand that FIAT is giving attractive discounts for the 2010 T-JET.

IIRC, Fiat Linea was never launched in Electric Blue color. The only Electric Blue Fiat Linea that I know, belongs to the Fiat CEO Rajeev Kapoor.

Do you have any pics to share with us? Yes, I love electric blue Fiat Linea.

Reminds me of the early days. Just like in year 2000, an enthusiast would give a cursory glance to the back of an OHC looking for the double-barrel Vtec exhaust, I find myself checking out new Lineas for the rectangular tip. Caught one in the basement of Asian Heart Institute. But that's it.....unfortunately.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

IMHO the build of the T-jet is still far better than the earlier Puntos and Lineas. But who has the time to bother about all these small alignment errors when you have that turbo charged gem waiting for for you to flog it and bring a smile to your face

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

^ I agree with that. Performance wise, its very raw power. I am sure once you start driving the TJet, you will forget the small niggles, if any. I see a TJet here and there in Bangalore. I see one atleast every couple of days. Off late, have been seeing brand new ones.

Would be interesting to see the TJet in Punto. Who knows, if Fiat opts to give out the engine, we might see plenty of other car manufacturers queue up to grab it.

These look like misaligned panels and not a design defect. But surely shows their poor quality check, both at the factory and at the dealership. It should have been so simple to put these pieces correctly.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

ALRIGHT!
Now that i have the time and inclination i have a tale to relate.
I took delivery of a Bronzo Scuro on 25th Feb in Pune. We noticed a discoloration on drivers door, front passenger door misaligned, dent on the same - a weird dent or a a vertical linear dimple.
The guys tried to resolve it but it only became worse. The door would open only with a loud, really loud snap!
They then decided to send their car to the Satara road showroom.
Was supposed to get it today, Tuesday.
Now they say there is a paint job in the offing, the paint/shade is not available.
Now am i supposed to take a brand new car with a paint job done?
I need help guys!!!
I have refused and told them that i will only take it if they replace the door.
But the issue is all the monies have been paid!
What Do i Do?

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

I think you should ask them to replace the door, try and get a factory repainted door if possible. Or otherwise even replace the damn car, I mean you shouldnt be getting a car which has ANY damage at all.

Re: Fiat Linea T-Jet : Test Drive & Review

How can i ensure a factory job? and car replacement? is there a process or should it be the good ol' indian tamasha at the showroom in Peak hours? - to get the work done?
But in the mean time i am back to 2wheeling as i have sold the earlier car.

Unbelievable! They have fantastic product in hand, but somehow miss out on addressing these bits and pieces related to quality. Quite appalling indeed.

Insist on getting the door replaced (or better if you get an alternate allotment). And you are right not to take the delivery until this is fixed.
