Re: My Beetle Stage 1

Came across a beautiful 58 Beetle , belongs to Mr David, and he has been owning it since the last 28 years. Few fittings are not period correct, but still a wonderfully original car.

The 1972 Cousins

Both are of 1972, Left Hand Drive American spec.,

Both run on 1600cc engines.

Bus belongs to yours truly, the Beetle belongs to MD - Haiku Honda - Mr Subramaniam.

The car is with me for white-wall paint, provided by Bullet_boy (Pankaj) and one rear fender paint touch-up.

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

Had a beautifull drive with fellow VW owners for breakfast. Started with Chai and Wada and ended up with a hearty breakfast at a regular haunt " Cafe Mondegars " We were surprisingly joined by a Fprd Model T used by another VW owner Jacob. He uses it regularly or been told everyday almost and looked like it. All the cars looked wonderful and performed also.

thankful to keith and all for organizing another fun run.

Some snaps taken today.

Cheers

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

It was a great gathering of likeminded enthusiasts enjoying a Sunday morning drive, catching up on car talk. Kasli's car looked like a million bucks, and ran just as well. A total of 10 brightly coloured Bugs zipping around within traffic grabbed plenty eyeballs, and the Model T with the top down in the rain took the cake! Looking forward to the next run to Lonavala.

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

Saw this immaculately maintained Beetle outside Style Plus TVM in July.

An absolute beauty.

Sorry for the horrible pics. I only had my Galaxy Note on hand. My wife did not even have her N8 either, else I could have gotten better pics.

Been seeing this car from time to time in Pune in regular use, used to be red earlier. Managed these pictures yesterday.

This seems to be an earlier car (early 60s-ish) fitted with later bumpers and headlamps- correct?
