Gogi's '55 Dukkar Fiat was also transported the same risky way from Hyd.- Bom a couple of years ago! That would've been a far more valuable car to take such risks with!

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Would anyone know the correct colour shade to paint the engine block for the Landmaster? I would assume it would be the typical Morris dark green, but would like to confirm.

Hi Karl,

I dont know about the landmasters, but Morris minors after 1952 till end of production in 1971 are all painted in what is closest to current day "Land rover mid bronze green". This information is sourced from the book "Original Morris minor" by "Ray Newell".

regards,

Srinand.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Here is a link to a beautiful article by Sir Mark Tully on the memories of his Ambassador. Mark Tully was a long time BBC correspondent in India and ultimately made India his home. He was knighted, awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. He quit BBC in 1994.
The link is here:

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Found this one posted on FB. The white walls and the search light look period. The colour combo is quite unusual. But it looks cool. The wheel discs have been given the post 1990 metallic grey colour.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Saw this in FB of a new Malayalam movie '72 Model'. Looks like an Ambassador car plays a major role in this movie. The movie title and car's age are of similar year though the actual reg. no. is from '70 or '71.

Karl, I would like to post a picture from the Morris Cowley and Oxford Owner's journal "Quality First" , of a Morris Issis engine bay repainted for restoration. But I am not sure whether this is in sync with the original shades.
I would get it confirmed however from the MCOC and try to post a picture or two.

Hi Sir,

Here is the picture and the write up from the same book i quoted earlier. Seems very different from the Issis engine.

Srinand.
