Re: A thread on Accomodation & Rates?

During my recent trip in mid-May to Munnar and Kodai, we stayed at the following hotels arranged by the tour operator:-

1. Hotel Hill View, Munnar. Tariff was 1900 per day per double room, with check out time as noon. It was a very decent hotel with TV and hot water, and buffet breakfast thrown in for free. Only dinner was quite pricey at Rs 180 plus taxes, which we avoided.

2. Hotel Kodai Breeze--located near the lake (600 metres), opposite Hotel Siva Priya. For similar tariff, the stay was comfortable, though not at par with Hill View at Munnar. The main advantage was the location being walkable from the lake. The check out time was 9 am.

The place looks good. Do you have any room photographs?

No. It was unremarkable to look at, though comfy and felt like home, so I did not click a picture. As you enter there is a living room with the cot, TV, table and a couple of chairs, beyond that an anteroom with a dressing table and antique wooden cupboard, and beyond that the bath/toilet.

Stayed at Fern Creek last month during our trip to Kodai. Heard about them from tripadvisor.com

Excellent resort with awesome food. Amazing hospitality and service. It's a tent concept with 11 tents in total.

Honeymoon Tent- 7.5k per night
Deluxe Tent - 6.5k per night

It's an All Meal Package.

Some pics.

I have read good reviews about this place. I made reservations once over phone and had to cancel my reservation. It's 5 minutes by walk to the temple.

I'll be going there next week. For reservations over phone you can call 02423 255194

Stayed at MTDC Shirdi last September. The hotel is located very close to the temple. Hardly 5mins walk. You can actually hear the Aarthi going on in the temple from the hotel in the early mornings when the roads are quite. Rooms are spacious and the restaurant attached is also pretty good. Various restaurants nearby as well. Spacious and secured parking too. Try to get rooms away from the main road as traffic tends to get a little noisy.

Re: A thread on Accomodation & Rates?

We were in Goa between the 22nd and 28th of May. Stayed at Colonia Santa Maria on Baga Beach. The stay was pleasant. The rooms and toilets were very clean and their housekeeping staff were prompt and effective. The tariff was 2500/night with breakfast included. Was told that their monsoon (1st June thru 30 Sep) tariff was about 1800/night.

The highlights good things about this place are,
1) Easy access to the beach (about 150 mts). This strect of beach also had a lifeguard stationed.
2) A fabulous elevated sun deck
3) Two swimming pools
4) Tito's was 2 minutes from there

Not-so-good thing,
1) Taps ran dry on a couple of occassions. Supply was restored only after 30 minutes.

Here is their website.

There is a place Gowtham Lodge near KMCH and is pretty close to airport. You can google and get their numbers and talk to them. Now I've not had the need of staying outside in Coimbatore and hence have not stayed here as well to vouch on their quality. But looking from outside it seemed decent enough. There is a 3 star hotel called Sohan Regency also closer to airport, but will be beyond your budget. The only other option is to stay near the bus stand -Gandhipuram.

Thanks for the information. We have already booked at Metro Park Inn. They offer airport drops.

I will post a review once I get back (the booking is for August).
