I am planning to drive down to Sathyagala past Kollegal this weekend. Anyone knows the latest road conditions about the Kunigal - Huliyurdurga - Maddur road? I might take Mysore road for the morning drive, but want to avoid it on the return. Since I stay near Rajajinagar, the Kunigal road is preferred more.

I had taken the Srirangapatna-Pandavapura-Nagamangala-Belur cross route last year-end a couple of times. Work is 95% complete except a few metres of diversions here and there. This is now a beautiful alternative to the NH 275 especially for people living in the north of Bangalore.

I took this route on Saturday, work is almost completed. There are few road humps initially, later it is an excellent road.

The road widening work is in progress on Huliyurdurga-Magadi road, trees have been axed and work is happening fast. The Kunigal-HDurga stretch is almost completed.

Took the Pandavapura route both ways on Monday and it was bliss. Managed to reach Columbia Asia, Mysore from Yeshwantpur in 2 hrs flat with a 5 am start. Return was also similar with hardly any traffic in the afternoon. Apart from 1 small 200m section where there is some culvert WIP, the rest of this route is very good and will continue to be my default route to Mysore.

Any idea if they plan to expand the roads around pandavapura? That is the only section of road that is comparatively narrow and slows you down during daytime.

Has anyone visited the Kadu Winery off Mysore Road (Channapatna)? If yes, can you please confirm how the road condition is once you take the left from Mysore highway onto the road which leads to the winery?

How was the overall experience, was it worth visiting ?

I guess the last time there was news of highway robbery on Bangalore- Mysore road was few years back. This however seems to be bit more organized and serious.

A four-member-gang waylaid the car near Kodishettipura. The miscreants threatened the passengers with lethal weapons and escaped with the car, two mobile phones, and Rs 1,500 cash. The car was bound for Mysuru from Bengaluru.

Bangalore - Mysore road widening is in full swing. On my recent travel, I had passed bidadi-ramnagara stretch around 2300 hrs and found that at certain section the road work is going on even during night time

Will road widening mean, the plans for a new expressway, with a different alignment between Bangalore and Mysore, are no longer on the table?

Wasn't that the NICE road? The plan of extension to Mysore is effectively dead I guess.

I had travelled from Bangalore to Mysore and further towards bavali, on the last Saturday. I had left Bangalore at 05:00, and there were no police checking on the Mysore Road until srirangapatna. I just had to flash my inter district pass on the mobile and I didn't even had to roll down my window. I saw police personnel asking lot of questions in case you don't carry a pass.
While returning in the evening, I was stopped again some where near Mandya. Here police asked the reason for travel and pass and my temperature was monitored using a handheld device.
