Thanks , I will check with them. My big concern is most of airlines dont allow persian cats in cargo, because of being snub-nosed.

This is absolutely correct. Dogs should be neutered only after attaining maturity - 1 year of age - in the case of both males and females.

I have done my homework before getting the dog.
By homework, I meant - You got to know what kind of dog you need before adopting one. Irrespective of which breed he/she is, you have to know what kind of a puppy you are going to choose. High/low/medium energy/intelligence level etc.

So when you said you cant leave your dog unleashed inside the house - First thing which came in my mind... "Oh what a mismatch - an indoor dog high on energy"

Don't mind, just my thought which is subjective.

1KM everyday is good Try increasing that, or taking him out twice (only if time permits).

I am telling this because, I gifted my friend a black lab. By the time this guy was able to walk, he was a terror. He would run all around the house for continuous 30 minutes if allowed, dash into the tables, chairs, drop the computer, chew the cables, tear pillow and mattresses (all this in one go )

So what I did is, relocated him to another friend's house who had place for him to play around. This guy would go crazy (his name was crazy) seeing open place.. run around for an hour and then be sober the whole day.

Yeah i understood that. Have seen Cessar Millan's videos.
Also when i saw the dog first at his 3rd month, i knew i am getting a high energy dog. He was playing restlessly with his mother.

Thats the plan. I will come home at 6:00PM everyday. Also there are two vacant sites next to my house. Will get them cleaned and make a play ground, till the owners plan to construct the house there.

I tried this with my dog, but he is more interested in hunting down the streeties.. will not fetch a ball more than 5 times. After which he will start looking for places to escape from. A couple of times he just escaped from one broken side of the wall and created nuisance in the whole society chasing streeties.

If your dog just loves playing with you.. This idea is superb.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Guys does anyone have any recommendations/references for dog breeders in NCR , preferably Gurgaon ? We are looking for a Labrador puppy and I do not want to get any from the standard pet shops.

I am also considering asking at the CGS pet hospital in Gurgaon and a few of the better known pet clinics.

Thanks

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Hey all! This is my first post in this thread!

Well, I have a picture of my small friend to share with you all. He's my best bud and I really love him. His name's Teddy and this fella's super-cool, and has cheerfully dismiss'd 9 months of his life! He is my companion for long-solo trips. He amuses us in a way that even Kapil can't!

P.S. Did I mention? His nodding drives us all crazy!

Keep revvin'

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Here are my pets, the Oscars (they are also known as Water or River Dogs!). They were only about 2-3 inches when they came home about 2 years ago. Now, both are about 10-11 inches in length.

Yes, they are a pair (?) for the last 2 years!

As you might know, Oscars are "monomorphic". This means that males and
females look the same. You will normally know the sex of your Oscars only when they start laying eggs, which did not happen so far. Hence, i feel they have paired up as a matter of convenience due to the prevailing circumstances!

BTW, this pair is my 3rd set for the past 7-8 years. Had another good pair of Orange Oscars which grew almost upto about 10 inches, but both died off due to old age?, when they were about 2.5 years old.

Re: Team-BHPians and their Pets

Well seeing as they haven't ripped each other's fins out i guess they are a good pair

And 2.5yrs is not old age for Oscars. Could have been other circumstances.
