Which area do you stay in? I had tikona for a month and it was really horrible. But that was way back in 2010 i think when they had started. I wouldnt get signal in the receiver at all.

My Broadband experience in chronological order has been Hathway, tikona, hathway, bsnl, hathway. Speed has been the determining factor. Whenever one player offered better speeds i shifted to that. Hathway now provides me 5mbps per month for 1099 rupees with taxes. And sundays are unlimited. The advantage of having tried out most of the players in the market is that now i can shift to any network without incurring installation charges.

This is what my son has. What I find is that there are short outages every so often. A real pain if you are doing any financial work at that time.

I did notice that during power cuts, the speed does increase to about 800 kbps so their issues are probably with overselling their bandwidth.

Dont have many options for wired broadband and Airtel is too costly in both wired/ wireless options.

Planning to switch over to MTS Mblaze with 12GB download limit for Rs899/- at 3.1 Mbps speeds.

Only catch with OTA USB dongles is you should get atleast 3 or more signal strength bands for better speeds.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Beam Telecom. INR 1020/- for speed of 10 mbps with 30 GB download limit. Post the FUP, still have a 2MB speed.

Absolute VFM. Hardly any outages plus excellent customer service.

2 years back had Hathway for a month and it was pathetic in terms of speed and committment.

Can you give me the customer care number or the number of the person whom i can get in touch with? Do you know if it Is available in RT Nagar region? Also do you get any day of the week which is unlimited? On Hathway i can usually download 30gbs per day. So sunday unlimited is a great option for me. Anything similar in your case?
Thanks

It works quite well for HSR.
There must have been some development these last 2 or 3 years.

Oh. Here they said that their base station was about a kilometer from my place and so many buildings have come up that i had to literally stand and keep turning my antenna till it picked up the signal. Happy with cable to home connection now.

Has anyone noticed that 8% of those who have voted in the poll dont have broadband? : shockked:

That's what I hear from other people about BSNL broadband.

I pay 1900 for 4Mbps Airtel connection, for 75GB fair usage data.

Trust me, my wife was working from home for 1 year and we never faced any downtime from this connection She alone use to consume around 25 gigs of data on job.

also the speed is always 4 Mbps as promised and I never consumed more that 75 GB of data so for me its unlimited in-spite of fair usage policy.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Beam cable at Hyderabad.
Rs 1020 for 10 MBPS with a FUP Limit of 10 GB.

There have been a few downtime incidents but most are resolved very fast.
My building is on a 24*7 full power backup.
So when the power goes, internet connection is lost for no more than 30-50 seconds.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

i pay 1300 per month for my Reliance 3G broadband. 3G speeds upto 15 GB and reduced speed (i think 250kbps) after that. i normally consume 15 GB of data in 25-26 days and i get around 5-7 MBps speed.

previously i used MTS, 999 for 15 GB + unlimited (reduced speed) pre month. speeds were typically in range of 512 kbps - 2 MBps.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I am paying 1460 (including taxes) for unlimited usage @ 10mbps (FUP 75GB, 1mbps after that) from ACT broadband. Have been completely satisfied with the service so far (5 months). I get full 10mbps ( or about 1.31 megabytes per second) at most times of the day. Watching 1080p videos on Youtube is a dream come true

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I'm using Airtel broadband with 2Mbps & 20gb data!
they have been charging me close to 2000 bucks per month!
I have opted for a plan change which comes with 4Mbps & 150gb for 2199 rupees!
Guess it's worth the money!
Any suggestions ,guys??

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I pay Rs 900/month to BSNL.
4Mbps upto 8 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 8 GB

Agree with others that there tend to be downtime issues.
Is definitely a pain if you are in the middle of something important.
