Watched "Letters from Iwo Jima" over the weekend. A brilliant movie from Clint Eastwood. Would recommend it as a must watch for movie lovers.

Next on my list is the "Dark Knight". Been hearing good reviews about this movie all day long especially Heath Ledger's performance as Joker.

The Dark Knight

Caught "The Dark Knight" tonite. Easily one of the best super hero movies in recent times. The movie has you spell bound completely. The action is amazing, the effects mindblowing and above all towers Heath Ledger's performance as one of comic book's most favourite bad guys, the Joker. Great performances by the rest as well. Really loved Batman's husky voice in this one. The background score is awesome too. 2.5 hours of complete edge of the seat entertainment.

A must watch. My rating 4.5 / 5

P.S : Look out for the grey LP640 as well.

Yes, yes, yes! Among the best movies of its kind! And one of the rare movies with Al Pacino vs. Robert DeNiro.

I watched the Dark Knight too tonight and man what a movie.

Christian Bale and Heath Ledger at their best. Loved the LP640 used by Bruce Wayne too. And the Batpod is cool as hell.

Try to watch it in IMAX if you can. You cannot go wrong.

Saw Wall-E yesterday. really nice movie. Its a bit sentimental though. it's amazing how they did a movie without much dialogue, but still managed to make the one or 2 words that the robots used so emotionally touching.

WALL-E & The Dark Knight - two really good movies with thought provoking underlying messages, but still great entertainment value. Both are must see movies.

Also if In Bruges is running, and you like movies like "snatch" - go see it. Its great!!

I agree- its a must watch.
Clint eastwood is not just a cool action hero.
I had watched Flags of our fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima back to back a few months ago. IMO, that is the best way to bring out the beauty of both the movies.
even as stand alone movies the two of them are amazing!

frankly I wasnt expecting a good movie as I had hated the last move "Batman Begins"

But boy I was so wrong, the movie is awesome, its been really long time that I saw such a good English movie.

Too bad Heath ledger is not around to bask in the glory of his awesome performance

EDIT: Also Saw Kismat Konnection on friday night & the lesses said the better

I was thinking of holding the director and asking for the refund! The only saving grace in the movie is shahid's friend's (Vishal) GF

Mission Instanbul

A top Indian journalist takes up a lucrative posting in an Instanbul TV channel, famous for showing terrorist activites. All the previous journalist have died under mysterious circumstances when they tried to leave the channel.

Suddenly an ex-Turkish Army commando warns the Indian journalist that he may be the next target. And from then on it's action.

Scenes have been copied from numerous Hollywood movies - one roof top chase is straight out of the The Bourne Ultimatum.

The Scorpio has been used extensively in the movie (LHD) as has Mountain Dew - making an unwanted appearance at the wrong time.

Zayed Khan plays the Indian journalist and is hamming and overacting through out . How he has still survived this industry is a mystery.

Vivek Oberoi plays the ex-commando. His is a crowd pleasing role and he goes at it with so much gusto that he looks like a model walking the ramp instead of an commando. Everything is so easy for him.

The 2 girls - blink and you will miss them.

2 villians - Nikitin from Jodha Akbar and Shabbir from the Balaji camp - overact .

Music is so-so with the "World hold On" being mutilated beyond repair.

Verdict - 1.5/5.
Miss it.

ps - the 1 star is for showing George Bush in an hilarious avtaar.
