Acting is alright but the screenplay is not upto the mark.

Sitting through the whole movie must have been tough I guess. IMO the movie sucked bigtime.

But if you want something even worse try The Limits of Control, it would really test your limits of control.

The Town

Watched "The Town" last night. Its a crime film starring, co-written and directed by Ben Affleck.

It was a nice watch, however with a running time of 2:04 Hrs feels a little long.

how much of coincidence can it be..I just finished seeing 'The Town'.
I kinda liked it..true that it isn't an all out action movie per se..but a nice one nevertheless.

btw, IIRC the director was Ben Affleck himself.

Find Me Guilty
Find Me Guilty (2006) - IMDb

Its aptly rated 7 in Imdb. One of the finest performances by Vin diesel and quiet a mature one too!
Its Based on the true story of Jack DiNorscio, a mobster who defended himself in court for what would be the longest mafia trial in U.S. history.
Recommended.

Rating-4/5

@fine69- Thanks for the input. Will avoid limits of control now.

Just back from - The fighter.
Based on a true story and the character inactment was perfect. Perfect.
Mark Wahlberg is aging, but I still love him.
Same like Rocky but not as exciting as Rocky series.
The last fight should have been prolonged with masala and 'sliding towards the edge of the seat' kind of music. But that wasn't to be.
Its a one time watch if you have 9.5$ and nothing else to do with your time.
If you skip it, you won't miss much.

@ALL - Please share some review/details about the movie instead of saying its good/bad/Must watch etc. Also try to rate it on a scale of 1 to 5. Thanks

Saw Pay It Forward

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-pif.jpg

The Movie is based on a Novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde, The movie is about a Boy who is given an Assignment which asks them to do something to change the world. So the boy comes up with an concept of 'Pay It Forward'. The idea is that each person should do 3 good Deeds & the person receiving it should 'Pay It forward' to 3 more persons. So that it goes spiral.

The movie features Helen Hun as the boy's alcoholic Mother & Kevin Spacey as the Social Science teacher. The boy thinks that the concept has failed not realizing that it has touched more lives than he thought. The movie evolves around these 3 characters & a journalist who is trying to find out the source of this phenomenon called 'Pay It Forward'.

Brilliant performance by the entire cast, great story but I felt that the duration could have been shorter or the direction needed to be more crisp.

Rating - 3.5/5

The idea of this movie was copied into a telugu movie starring Chiranjeevi. I think it was called "Stalin" .

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

The Fighter.

a Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale starrer based on a 80's boxer called Micky Ward.
story revolves around Micky wards attempts at going pro and his half brother training him.

the best acting is not by mark Wahlberg but by Cristian Bale as Micky's half brother.

its a movie worth watching.

Rating : 4.5/5

PS: I'll surely go watch it again when it hits the dollar theatre.

re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Love and Other Drugs!!!

Gosh...DONT WATCH IT.

Have you seen a movie whose basic contents are what they show in a trailer? NO?

Well dont worry as they have launched this movie. One brain dead gross stupid pathetic excuse for a romantic comedy which revolves arnd 2 ppl who like having sex.

Initially thats nice as the actress is cute and all but if the entire movie has it. Thats when you pull your hair out. Now time to sue the producers for some mental trauma and also hair loss and lack of sleep as its 5 am when i am typing it.

Now back to the story. To the second half of the movie is when the director realizes he is making a sort of romantic comedy movie and so throw in a paranoid chic who has a disease and ALL OF A SUDDEN starts behaving like a girl and asking questions.

Then throw in a guy who till now loved his sex all of a sudden get mushy and wait he then gets confused or cold feet. Well you may think that is you but NO.

So it goes on and on and i kept watching it like an idiot(mind you i was watching it on some online site so not for the money or the popcorn) EVEN THOUGH I KNEW WHERE IT ENDs.

It finally did and i was not more pissed off. I can openly say i loved whats your rashee better than this and also i am not some MCP. I love rom coms and Notting hill is my fav movie of all times. I also love LOVE ACTUALLY and this is my fav scene.

Anyways dont watch this and save your time.

Going with 0.5/5. This is some pity is all i can say
