Watched 'Machine Gun preacher' last night. Gerard Butler has given a stunning performance!
Based on a true story of Sam Childers.
I was expecting guns and violence, but this movie has a lot more to offer. The movie touches on the aspect of innocent children getting orphaned from the war crimes in Africa.
Not a flick for the faint hearted.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Ten Movies i'm looking forward to:

1. Iron Man 3
RDJ alongwith Paltrow, Kingsley & Pearce. Super cast.

2. Star Trek Into Darkness
B.E.N.E.D.I.C.T. C.U.M.B.E.R.B.A.T.C.H. Nuff said.

3. World War Z
Looks interesting and Pitt will bring some credibility even if the plot has holes. Directed by the talented by somewhat inconsistent Marc Forster, lets see what beholds.

4. Before Midnight
So so looking forward to probably, sadly the last rendezvous between Jesse & Celine.

5. Man of Steel
With Nolan being a producer, i'm sure he would give his creative inputs & that's enough for me.

6. This is The End
Would be a cracker with Stoner pranks & stellar comic cast.

7. Kick Ass 2
Jim Carrey joins Hit Girl & Kick Ass this time around though Matthew Vaughn is not helming it.

8. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Loved the first installment & with Lewitt in this part, will be super. Miller, Rodriguez & the QT influence.

9. Thor: The Dark World
Looking forward to what Alan Taylor brings as he's directed lots of GoT, Sopranos & Mad Men episodes.

10. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Exciting that the super talented Philip Seymour Hoffman joins Jennifer Lawrence, Tucci, Banks & Harrelson in this outing.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Transformers Prime : One shall stand

This, apparently is a hash of some episodes of the transformers prime series.
Great animation, and okay-ish storyline.
It involves Megatron's resurrection, Unicron's resurrection and death, and the return of Optimus prime to Orion Pax days.

Along the way, you get the involvement of 5 humans in the fray as well.

Only thing that may be slightly disconcerting at first is that the transformers have lips and facial features. However, if youve seen the series, beast machines, that should be okay.

Do watch if a fan of full length animateds.

5/5

One of the best movie i had seen.
Was expecting it to be too violent. Instead turned out to be a beautiful sensitive story. Do watch it for brilliant screenplay and awesome acting by Butler.

Will rate it 5/5

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched Iron Man 3, its a fabulous movie & every bit the blockbuster movie that it was expected to be!
Its certainly better than the 2nd edition.
Also i must add that the last bit(last 20 mins) could have been more exciting like in the Avengers!
Also i'm reading on twitter that there's something after the end credits so don't leave the theatre immediately, well i didn't wait so someone kindly PM me as to what exactly it is.

Iron Man 3 : 3/5

Good movie, decent script. But very out of touch with part 1 & 2. As a standalone movie this wouldn't be a bad watch at all (my friend who hasn't seen 1,2 parts loved it)

But there is a complete lack of connection with the earlier parts (and avengers) on storyline as well as basic logic. I'd have to give spoilers to explain that so I'll leave that for now. But I was disappointed.

Watch out for Ben Kingsley's amazing performance; especially his 2nd "personality".

Iron man 3

I don't know, man.
This was one of the most anticipated movies this Year, and it's turned out to be one of the most disappointing.
If you're any kind of fan of the actual comic, or even the first two flicks, wait for the DVD.
I'd give it 1/5

Another one, 'Kill the Irishman' (Bulletproof Gangster)

Based on a true story of Danny Greene, who was the famed mobster who would survive 9 assassination attempts..

See it if you are a fan of the typical gangster movie, set in the late 70's.

4/5

Tell me about it. The more I think about it, the more faults and illogical I find the movie.

Pity we can't discuss it here - clearly spoilers will be divulged.

I suppose we gotta wait till it's off the screens before ripping into it. .
In the meantime, I wish people look up the mandarin on Wikipedia.

I agree with both of you. The movie actually felt drag and I almost dozed off at a few places.

Part 1 and Part 2 were clearly better.
