Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

The toll at Bangalore airport i.e. the one we need to cross to go to Devanahalli is charging 2 x Rs 85/- for a round trip instead of charging 125/-. I cross this toll at least thrice a week and every single time after coming home, i have to login to ICICI portal and raise a complaint. When exiting Bangalore they don't have a dedicated lane and use scanners but while entering the city there is a dedicated lane . The issue is exactly same with Bagepalli toll plaza at Bagepalli. I have filed grievance with government's customer grievance portal and ICICI but the response has not been satisfactory.

Write to the NHAI and IHMCL - there are email ids available in the respective websites. These problems are caused not by the tag issuer, but by the toll reconciliation banker.

If we raise a complaint with the tag issuer, it will have to be routed to the reconciliation point through the long winding chain and hence cause a lot of delays. Writing to the NHAI and IHMCL will help things move faster - at least it did in my case.

Would you please share the email address here or via PM. I am unable to find them in NHAI website, it only has the location of NHAI offices and phone numbers but no email ID's.

IHMCL: info@ihmcl.com
+91-11-28042710

NHAI Contacts: http://nhai.gov.in/offices.htm

Call them, then ask for an email id where the complaint could be sent. This is what worked for me.

I didn't want to contact him, wanted to experience the process without follow up, but I am extremely happy with ICICI.

Here is my timeline,
26/02-22:00 Hrs-Applied Online on ICICI.
26/02-22:05 Hrs-Payment for Rs.594.70 Account went Pending for Active.
27/02-09:49 Hrs-Pending for Active to Active and could log in the website.
28/02-10:00 Hrs-Tag number Issued.
28/02-14:00 Hrs-Tag Dispatched from Mumbai.
01/03-18:00 Hrs-Tag reaches me in Bangalore.
01/03-20:30 Hrs-Tag is working. Passed a toll from E-City towards Hosur
Road and came back.

So effectively it took 3 days to reach me. Might not be the same for others.
Hope this information is useful.

Does this imply that there will be no dedicated Fastag lane now? If so, how does it benefit Fastag users unless most, if not all, vehicles use Fastag?

Could you manage to figure this out? I am in a similar situation.

I do not see any such page. I use a Win phone - might have something to do with that. Any clues?

I managed to get a paytm Fastag in my third attempt - from what I deduced (no one from customer care could give me a clear response here), the RC copy has to be submitted in either PNG or PDF format. I had submitted JPEG formats for the first 2 times and the tag was dispatched the day after I submitted PDF, for the third attempt.

For now Attibele continues to have 1 dedicated fastag lane in both directions at the toll plaza.
I'm not sure if this will go away in the long term, but at the minimum, during the holiday and long weekend rush hours one can choose any lane and still use the tag for cashless payment (since dedicated lanes are also open for cash payments during these times).

It automatically debits your Paytm main wallet as and when the balance falls below ₹150. Just ensure to keep sufficient balance in Paytm wallet. I actually find it quite convenient. Also as per guidelines ensure to top up minimum 1.5 - 2 hours before the trip to ensure hassle free experience.

WOW. That was super quick and i guess you may one of the lucky person to get a tag so early via standard process.

How about the documentation part? Was it also smooth enough thorugh this online mode without any questions from bank?

Have to upload scanned copy of ID/Address Proof(uploaded Self attested scanned Aadhar) and RC. Bank asked standard details like mobile number, email id, address, vehicle number, date of birth that's it.

Wanted to ask a stupid question. If I procure Fastag through ICICI and want to re-charge the same / or say link it with Paytm account, is that possible?

Not possible as Paytm is not a valid payment option, there is UPI though.

Simple answer, no. However, if the tag issuer provides the option to recharge the account using an electronic wallet such as PayTM, or use PayTM's UPI system to do a direct recharge, then yes, it can be "linked".
