Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Could somebody please tell me the best product to clean the roof liner of XUV new gen. I had some wiring concealed behind the A pillar trim and the mechanic at A.S.S has left his greasy finger prints on the liner, not very visible to others but to me it is. Please help.

Use an upholstery cleaner or all-purpose cleaner to take it off. if you cannot get hold of these cleaners use a good quality laundry detergent mixed in some water, a clean cloth and a soft brush. Dab the stains with detergent water, let the detergent do its work and then gently wipe off the stains. Use a soft brush (for e.g. a toothbrush) on stubborn stains. Dab the residue with a clean cloth.

Do this ASAP before the grease permanently stains the roof liner fabric. Earlier the better.

I used Meguiar's carpet and upholstery cleaner to clean the roof liner a few times. Works well. Spray and soak the liner for a minute, and then use a microfiber to dab/wipe. It's available from Flipkart.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

I've got a bottle of 3M Premium Liquid Wax for my off white coloured Altis, which I have not used yet.

Now I need the following things -

1. A big piece of sponge for polishing purposes.
2. Polish for interiors (doors, dashboard, and leather seats).
3. Methods (including materials required) to clean door mats.
4. Tyre cleaners.

Can somebody tell me if Proklear is up to the mark and how it compares to Ultima

Thanks
I tried Proklear CX (with Carnauba wax). It left streak marks on the body which didn't go away even after multiple wiping and rubbing with MF clothes. Got removed only after I went for my annual exterior cleaning session at 3M. I am currently using the simple Proklear solution which will soon run out. Seeing the feedback here, i will probably try out ONR this time.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Proklear Raw rinseless is pretty good.I am on the first bottle and I will change only if I find something cheaper and as effective. I had used Jopasu rinseless but didnt find it good.
In the last Amazon sale, I bought pack of 24 microfiber cloth for 650 ... pretty good deal.
Cleaned my car today and was liberal with using the MF wipes. 2 cloth peices per panel. First class results.
I also have a 1.5 litre agro pressure pump that I use for the risless wash.
So far, this is the best setup for me.
I like to keep things simple, hence stay away from 2 in 1 kind of products like wash and wax etc.
Also I am not very aggressive with wiping. One gentle wipe straight down a panel is it. Another gentle wipe next to dry. I leave any tar marks etc that cannot be removed by a single wipe alone. Leave it to 3m to clean it once in a while.
Hope you find this useful.

I do too. Another problem is that they put wax where it is not wanted: on the glass.

ONR is really good! Going to a wedding at the weekend, in all our best clothes, I felt ashamed of the state of the car. I hosed off the loose dust, applied ONR and dried. Dull places, I applied more ONR and dried again. Shiny car in less than half an hour! Another phase with a Quick Detailer would have enhanced further, but didn't have the time. Still, the results of the lazy-man quick wash are better than anything I've used before. Emphasing: this is just the wash; not the wash+wax.

Anyway, as soon as I choose the two-day window, my car is going to hospital. After the small dent and scratches are fixed, it will go for full detailing.

How many thanks for the insider info. Just kidding.!
Bumping up an old old thread reference - does anyone know the recent about ONR dealers in Mumbai or India?

My go to place for ONR products is greenzcar care. They have a online store and provide prompt service. Just 3-4 weeks back, I received my 32oz bottle of ONR wash and wax.

Many of the members here have used this online store and received very good service. Hope this helps you. And no commercial interest and just to share my experience.

Regards..Vikas

PS: By chance I took pic of my scorp today. Last ONR session took place on Saturday Jan. 28 and since then only Jopasu duster every evening before the car cover. Its been foggy weather in Delhi in last so many days with even rains in-between. Last full wash happened around December 20 in 2016. I love ONR.

Great. Greenzcar seems to be the only place where it's available in India. But unfortunately they seem to have run out of plain ONR (blue). They have the one with wax (green).

For all the ONR users who have used Ultima, which one would you rate better?

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Guys, I would love to have a bottle of Optimum car wax, but unable to find it online. Amazon has it but it seems they don't deliver anywhere.

Click to open

I'll be grateful if anyone can help me with an online link/ship it if its available at your place.

Regards,
Shashi

PS: I have heard its better than Collinite 845 in terms of longevity and gloss. Can someone who has used both shed some light.
