Yes. I always carry both keys on my long drive. One key with my co-passenger and one with me. Never had a problem. I can also lock the car keeping one key inside by using other key in which case the key inside is disabled until next unlock.

I use Pixel 3 with short cable bought from amazon. And haven't had any issues. You can try clearing pending updates for your phone, app and if not, ICE.

Thanks Avinash. Yes seems incredible that carrying two keys could cause immobiliser trouble. Will take up with the service center on my next visit.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

I am borderline embarassed to ask this but have to ask anyway, "How can I exit the Naviagation on the OEM HU of XUV"?

I punched in a destination 2 days back and Naviagation keeps trying to take me to that location whenever I am driving. Right now I have muted the Navigation Audio but I know it is working in the background.

Hello friends, I have a 2015 W6. It appears that the rear-centre sensors have conked off. The rear side sensors are working fine while the centre one shows "error". I have taken extended warranty, would sensors replacement be covered under that? There has been no accident or external damage to the bumper/sensor

Go to the Nav Tab, and on the screen End/Finish the journey. If you scroll up from the base of the screen, its the centre button, if I remember correctly. And this issue is not uncommon. The system isn't as intuitive as Android Auto.

Hi
I own W8 2013 Model, drove more than 80k kms.
So far no major niggles except some small stuff.
Few days back while we are out of city AC compressors started making slight noise. Took it to near by MASS and without any troubleshooting they suggested to replace compressor. As the noise is not loud decided to get it to Bangalore. I generally used to visit Ananth cars but this time visited Sireesh singasandra. Its been 4days in Service Center, they couldn't figure out the problem and tried replacing some parts but as per service Manager the issue is not rectified and suggesting to replace Compressor.
Anyone in the forum experienced Compressor failure. Appreciate if you can share your experience or suggest any alternate options or AC experts in Bangalore.
Thanks in Advance.

In my case AC compressor starts making some noise after half an hour running or so. The service centre people has said that its the bearing noise from the compressor and the entire compressor needs to be replaced.

The ac is working totally fine till now so didn't bother.

If you have taken extended warranty, ask them to replace it. Or write to the customer care.

Nothing except the irritating rattles and vibration sounds every now and then. I am happy with my vehicle and of all goes well might replace with the Alturas.

Irrespective of replacement required or not, they have to give an analysis of actual issue. Suggest you take your vehicle to Chrome motor's Mysore road. Bit far from your current service center, however Chrome is good with analysing issues.

Several bhpians in other threads have recommended this place http://www.adityacarac.com/

Going to a specialist AC place rather than an ASS is probably the best thing to do with AC service. Likewise tyres, radiator, injectors need specialists:

The Service Station confirmed that. New sensor has been ordered and I hope together the faulty one replaced soon.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Hello friends,
I own 2015 W10 model and it has clocked nearly 75k kms. I have had relatively hassle free experience in this period. But in the last two months whenever I take vehicle out in heavy rains my xuv suddenly lose power and it engine shuts off. I have to push engine hard and power resumes after keeping the engine shut for few minutes. It happened again today in heavy rains. Last when it happened couple of weeks back service centre folks blamed clogged air filter as they did not see anything unusual from error code history by connecting to OBD. Has anyone faced similar problem, please share as I cant live with fear of driving in rains and meanwhile I will be showing at service centre again tomorrow. And yes as a benchmark there were other small vehicles that were able to ply on road under similar conditions.

Thanks.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Hi fellow XUV owners,

I have a 120k KM driven Sep 2014 W8 FWD. During this service interval the following issues have been highlighted -

120k Service charges - 4425+tax

ASSY UPPER LONG LINK
ASSY LOWER LONG LINK REAR
ASSY LINK STABILIZER BAR REAR
SHOCH ABSORBER REAR
UPPER SPRING SEAT N TOP CUP
--advisor says the above is part of the suspension and shock absorber setup for the rear and together these items are coming to 9200*2=18400+tax

Additionally, the following changes are recommended:
REAR DISC BRAKE (He says the worn out pads have left a scratch on the discs)
PAD SUB ASSY
-- total cost for these 2 around 6475+taxes

The car has been wobbly and pitching at the rear, which, I presume is due to the worn out suspension setup but I havent noticed any braking issues.

Wanted to ask the experts if these 2 prices look ok

What I am more worried about is some extras that he says need to be done as the car is rusting inside doors and underbody - The following treatments are recommended:

MAXICARE PREMIUM UNDERBODY PROTECTION SYSTEM - 2965+tax
MAXICARE INTERNAL PANEL PROTECTION SYSTEM - 2965+tax
MAXICARE SILENCER COATING - 1312+tax
MAXICARE EVAPORATOR CLEANING - 1906+tax

Have others who have driven their cars beyond 100k got these done? If yes, then do u recommend these?

I was in 2 minds about disposing off the car at this mileage but I want to wait for BS6 rollout + see the EV space evolve over the next 2 years. So have decided to keep the car for 2 years more.

Please let me know if the prices are looking ok and you guys recommend these MAXICARE treatments

Thanks!
