Hi Leoshashi, Thank you for updating. What I am looking at is the 'knob' and
'boot'. Knob is grooved with the gear position markings. Below the knob, you have the boot. I am attaching a snap for reference.
Thank you and apologies, if the message was not clear earlier.

That was exactly my doubt. The part number of the knob as per the system is:

Part No: 28113M70G40-5PK
Name: KNOB SHIFT LEVER (BLACK)
Price: Rs. 76

PS: There might be some difference in texture or shape of the knob, but the new one is shown as a replacement and should fit just fine.

Regards,
Shashi

Hi Shashi,
Please help with the part number and price of the black cladding around the fog lamp for Alto K10 VXi 2012. Pls note that only the plastic cladding need to be replaced and not the fog lamp which is working (the pic is from the LHS one which is intact, the RHS one has a crack)

Great if you can also post the price of the fog lamp (per piece) for reference.

As per Oriparts website the part number for Right side fog lamp bezel are:

71731M66L00-5PK or 71731M66L10-5PK (Alternate part #) and MRP is Rs.72 as per boodmo. However, Shashi will be able to confirm this via the DMS since these sites could be wrong

As per the same websites, the part numbers for foglamp assembly are:
35501M66L00 (Right side)
35502M66L00 (Left side)

MRP is same Rs.891 each

You may want to call a local MGP dealer about these parts while Shashi responds.

Sorry to say but your information isn't entirely correct. 66L00 and 66L10 aren't the same or alternate part numbers. 66L00 is the Bezel for LXi Variant which didn't come with Fog Lights, for VXi, the correct part will be 66L10 which has pre-made cutouts for the fog lights. Since he is a VXi owner, he cannot go wrong with either, as he can cut the part in LXi bezel and make it compatible. Minor difference, but still.

Shashi

Had been pondering over this for nearly a year. Unsurprisingly, found a semblance of an answer in our own forum; albeit in an unrelated thread.

Thanks!
Was searching for something else and came across this:

Price: Rs. 3210

Re: Maruti Genuine Parts (MGP) Catalog: Post your queries here (model list on Pg 1)

Shashi can you provide me with the part number and price of the engine mounts for a July 2014 Swift petrol.
I am experiencing increased vibrations on the steering wheel, and the pickup isn't smooth when I take off in first gear which wasn't earlier. It's like I need to slip the clutch and I could feel and hear something isn't bolted tight in the engine bay. Though I'm yet to drive the car properly for a distance (it's my brother's car) and yet to take it for a disgnosis.

Thanks.

Are you sure it's the mounts which have gone bad?? Bad mounts can cause vibrations but won't have pickup related issues. Throttle body/IAC can be probable culprit too as it seems its related to idling RPM.

Shashi

I can feel vibrations in the whole car. For example, I could hear the wheel cladding humming and also the front left mudguard which had one of its screw fallen off somewhere was shaking vigorously. Something which I have never witnessed from this K12M engine.
But during pick up, I could hear and feel something is shaking in the engine bay and yes I had to slip the clutch to get going. Things improve when the rpm rises. Please note that all these observations were made early morning at cold starts (temperature being 7 or 8 degrees). However, my brother who has the car with him whole day said that even during the daytime, he could feel the vibrations. I have recently got the oil changed with 5W30 but the car was running on 0W20 before that for three years.
I will take the car tomorrow to the workshop to get the throttle body/IAC checked.

Could this issue be bad fuel related?

Re: Maruti Genuine Parts (MGP) Catalog: Post your queries here (model list on Pg 1)

Hi Shashi,

I am looking for drive shaft boot set (wheel side) for Ritz Zxi 2011.
Part Number: 44118M83K00

Called up couple of MGP dealers, but they did not had it in stock and even mentioned that Maruti lately seems to be only interested in selling entire drive shaft.

Boot has sheared off from where one of the clamps (small one) is put on the rubber boot. It has not lost grease as yet.

Can you please suggest where I can buy one from or suggest an alternative.

Thanks.

Yes this can happen because of many reasons, including bad fuel too. Getting the car checked by SDT can reveal many things. Every symptom you mentioned, except pickup related, points towards Mounts. Hence I am sure its something else and not the mount alone.

Meanwhile, these are the details of the mounts:

Part No: 11710M74LC0
Name: MOUNTING COMP ENG RR
Price: Rs. 1090

Part No: 11620M74LC0
Name: MOUNTING COMP ENG LH
Price: Rs. 1390

Part No: 11610M74LB0
Name: MOUNTING COMP ENG RH
Price: Rs.2795

Note: There might be revisions or different part numbers which the dealers may stock. For example, it may end with LA0 and have different prices. It's only because of different vendors and stock availability with the MASS. As long as the parts physically look the same, you have nothing to worry about.

But again, first establish the reason of the issue. Changing the mounts straightaway might hide symptoms like vibrations and make it even harder to diagnose the root cause. Although it won't cure the lack of pickup.

The part is very much Open for Sale, costs Rs. 434. The stories that Maruti isn't interested in selling child parts is just BS. The MGP dealers aren't interested in selling such small parts because smaller the part, smaller the margin.

Ask them to place an order for the part, or even better, order on Boodmo. You should get the part within 2-3 weeks in case they don't have one in ready stock.

Also, please refrain from driving the car with a torn boot. If the CV joint gets damaged due to dirt and debris mixing with exposed grease, you'll have to change the whole driveshaft.

Regards,
Shashi

So I drove the car yesterday for 20 kms to identify the issue. At cold start in the mornings, I could definitely hear the vibrations and some juddering while pick up. At higher rpms, the car felt normal and no change in acceleration and throttle response. After driving for few kms, I could feel that the vibrations have reduced considerably (from what they were at cold start), but I could still feel some unevenness and a little vibrations. I opened the hood and could feel that it was caused by the Alternator or AC belt (I don't know which one was it. I am talking about the one located just left side of the engine and which can be clearly seen.)

To rule out the bad fuel possibility, I took the car to a reputed bunk and mixed some System G along with the fuel and gave the car a little Italian tune up. My brother rarely drives the car at higher RPMs.
After this, I could feel considerable improvement the refinement while at idle and the pick up also became absolutely normal. Just how it used to be.

Just one alien noise along with a tiny bit of vibrations could be felt at idle (650-700 RPM). I am 90 percent sure its coming from the belt in the engine bay.

I don't think its the engine mounts that have gone kaput. Still, will keep a watch over the next few days.
