The copper wires are exposed in almost all the vehicle alternators, these wires are coated and are waterproof hence dont worry about any shorting.

I would like to know if we can fit a driver's arm rest in the Ford Figo. Is such a thing possible?

Thanks for clearing that up mustang, Bangalore is extremely hot and dusty now!
The donkey again looks old thanks to the dust.

The alternator looks exactly the same even in 10Lakh Toyota cars. I don't think there will be any issues with it

Yes, I was wondering the same. I think it is very much possible. I saw a Ritz fitted with this and the owner said fixing this on the ritiz was easy so I guess it should be the same on the figo.

Update -

Crossed the 500KM mark today.
Engine seems to more rev happy than what it was.

@captain : You read my post regarding tyre pressure, I guess not.

I am recommending 32 tyre pressure in the front while rear should have 30 psi unless you want to load 5 passenger, Then this should be it.

If you want to load 5 passenger then you can go the 36 psi way.

Sorry Scorpio I missed your post.
I got garware from metro itself. They claim its garware but I'm not sure!

Lathangi qouted me 2.5K for 3M. The day I went to get it fixed the person who fixes the sun control wasn't around and they wanted me to come another day. But lathangi is 22KM + 22KM - 44KM up and down. Its really far off for me. So went with the crap metro gave me.

I would suggest you get it fixed from ford itself.

@thank you mustang,
I shall try this and let you about the ride quality.

I always felt that Figo looks best in white! Always felt, until I saw your Black Donkey. Boy, it looks stunning in Black. All it needs is matte finished Black/Silver alloys.

scorpio - I got it done at Sachin's Autoshop Koramangala. Rs 3200 for RE35, 4 windows and rear. Dealer quote was 4000 and they didn't have stock of that film. I would recommend this place if you are not far off from Koramangala. Very professional and prompt work, I got it done in 90 minutes as promised. I can PM you the contact details, if you want.

thanks to the Bangalore rains and heavy traffic jams. On my second tank full my FE dropped again. :( This time I got only 10.5!
This is purely inside the city.
With Petrol prices going up 10.5kpl seems ridiculously low for a 1.2.

The ride is quite bumpy, thinking of putting some better tyres maybe that will fix my problem.

The mileage is too low for a 1.2 L modern car like Figo. I think you need to take the car on a long drive and see the results. Anything below 14 on highways is unacceptable. Polo petrol is giving 13/17 as conveyed in ownership threads.Even the diesel Figos are facing some mileage issues it seems.

@ Captain, how are you coping up with cleaning the car? I am already having regular workouts with my car. Also can you post some pics of your car after the tints?
