I believe the FTII also has an old Mercedes bus slowly rotting away, which was gifted to them by the UN or some such organisation.
When I was in Fergusson College in '84, FTII had a metallic blue late-70s Australian Ford Falcon Station Wagon - probably the director's staff car (there was a similar looking car, somewhere in Pune, posted a few months back on TBHP, but I can't remember in which thread now), and just outside the FTII main gate used to be a Citroen mini van (if I recollect correctly, it sold 'fastfood').

That similar looking Falcon (or is it the same car?) is lying in a backlane at Nullstop at Kothrud. A Citroen H van has recently come to Pune from Ahmedabad.

Here, Heralds were used for those purposes! 'convertibles' is the true sense of the word!

Any pics. of those, chettAn?? Do they still exist?

Incidentally if youve seen one of the past issues of Auto-India,in the last page titled "rear view" or something there was a pic. of a 4-door (mk3) Herald, with its roof taken off, used as a tea-stall!
No idea where it was but definitely down south....maybe Bangalore.

The owner has pointed out a correction, it should read Aurangabad, not Ahmedabad.

Here it is. I had taken this picture from the magazine years ago.

Last year, or was it in 2006?, I'd spied a Mercedes Fintail/Heckflosse/110 in one of the lanes off Law College Road, opposite just a bit before FTII when going from BMCC circle. She was white in colour, seemed reasonably okay from the rear view that I got, although apparently a bit neglected. Sorry, no pictures (still don't have a digicam, neolithic me!).

All you have to do is ask.

EDIT - My mistake, this car is behind Fergusson College, not Law College. I heard a lot about that car, but never saw it. Is it the same car?

Errr... may I get some information about the fintail. I know a certain enthusiast from Cochin to whom I have promised ownership of a Benz, who might be very interested.
