No there is neither a vintage nor a classic Hillman in the Chennai Clubs. However, a non member has a 1951 Minx.

I have seen the Photos . Hillman requires restoration. Morris 1000 has been sold. He also has an Austin A 40,looks pretty good, asking price 3 .5 lacs

I find your posts stimulating and exciting, hurrahs to all of you. You seem to have identified, cataloged and evaluated every non-functional vehicle in all of India, regardless of present-day value. Here in the extravagant US of A we ignore the value of old cars and crunch them up to be recycled into beer cans. Stay the course!

Haha! Well, much as I'd hate to admit, its pretty much the same here with old cars- its only recently that the term 'classic' or 'vintage' has had some recognition, which meant that many many otherwise restorable old cars ended up being cannabalised and chopped into bits at the scrappers here!
And its not like all scrap cars are crunched up even in the US- there are still many junkyards spread across the cars with many complete cars tucked away there for ages atleast- hardly any such luck here!

Here are some pics for the FIAT guys. Owner wont sell the car, starts it sometimes after 3 or 4 months and leaves it like that only.

Sheesh. The fact that the car actually starts itself is a big achievement though i really doubt it. Judging from the condition of the bumpers and grill, i dont even want to begin guessing how bad the rest of it will be!!
