Experts, please inform us if this was indeed the case in the car shown or is it a later innovation?

The great thing about this forum is how one learns and learns and learns
The windscreen has been replaced with a larger pane

Maybe, or maybe not Could the incorrect rubbers be the reason one feels that the windscreen is larger than normal?
My question was regarding the positioning of the wipers. Still unanswered.

Karl??

I agree, it is unlikely that the windscreen size has changed, just the thick rubbers give that impression. Either ways, I have never seen this style of wiper position on a Minor. Maybe it was a later alteration - possibly retrofitting a simpler Jeep (or even rickshaw) unit?

I would like to add that not only Bombay, but the entire state of Maharashtra is better equipped to handle fraudulent automobile transfer cases.

Off the topic, but on the topic too, recently a garage owner (mechanic) in Nagpur brought some old cars from a neighbouring district vintage collector for repairs to Nagpur. While repairing a Ford Model A, the garage owner got a novel idea. God forbid, we should never be a victim of such "NOVEL" ideas. He through a broker from Pune sold the car (Model A) that he was repairing to an unsuspecting client in Bangalore, to make a quick buck. The Model A reached Bangalore and the poor buyer gave it to a garage to bring in more originality to his jalopy. He had spent nearly Rs 1.5 L over and above the Rs 4.5 L he had spent for buying this car.

Now came a mechanic ( a veteran and I know him personally) aged 84, who was repairing the cars for the garage. His Rs 40 K due to him from the garage owner remained unpaid. He too got a "counter-novel" idea and now went to the village by bus, to meet the collector-owner of these vintages and told him that among his cars, the Model A has been sold and has reached Bangalore. The owner got furious and lodged a FIR - he had a copy of the document signed by himself and the garage owner, saying that the cars are being taken for repairs to a garage in Nagpur, to prevent harassment enroute.

The police got into action and arrested the garage owner. He was interrogated but did not spill the beans. The police with the car owner hopped through garages doing such jobs at Nagpur, to get clues. The police then got information that the Model A was sold through a Pune broker to someone in Bangalore. The mobile numbers were also revealed through a source, that I wish to keep anonymous. The police reached Bangalore and seized the car, loaded it on a truck and brought it here. The owner got back his Model A. The mechanic aged 84 was paid a handsome amount by the car owner for his leak to him. The garage owner ended up being jailed while the Bangalore buyer lost money.

Hence, here we still believe that the arms of the law enforcers are long and wide and multi-directional.

re: Classic Cars available for purchase

A 1964 Mark II petrol Ambassador in good original condition is available at Bangalore with a friend's uncle. PM me if you genuinely seek one, so that visit may be arranged . It would be sold to highest offerer , at least, above Rs one lac (or nearest offer).

meanwhile , a resplendent dukkar in a new colour :
