Wow, this is quite a complete & salvageable car! Where is it, in calcutta itself? Do you see these quite often there?
I definitely hope someone picks it up! 'got the contact of the owner, if around?

As soon as your dad permits!

Coincidentally, I found an article on the madras super 10 MDU 6070 in a supplement of today's 'Hindu' newspaper.

Cyrus, my list is so unbelievably long, I don't know how many births I'll have to take to achieve it .

My hall of famer though, is what I think is the greatest style statement car ever made, that fabulous product of Citroen's marriage to Maserati - the Citroen SM.

Harit sent me this a short while ago.

Somewhere in the threads there is a mention of a white early Standard. Attached please find the pic. You can upload and connect to the concerned link please. My memory says 1909, but could also have been before 1912.
Appart from this, there are few early Standards surviving. There was a 1920,s tourer in Mumbai, it will be around somewhere but has disappeared. I will try to search a pic. Then there are the Standard Coventry's, one is in Nashik, one in Goa and one in Bangalore. These are 1929 to 1932(?), just check on the net. Then there are ofcourse the Standard Flying's of which many are around and the post-war Standards

Wow, she looks just beaut!!!

Except I'm not too fond of this colour combo (is the upper part black or navy blue?)- reminds me of a hong-kong taxi!

Hmm - good car and decent colour combination, except for those hideous wheel caps. Good original wheel caps will transform the looks. Those mirrors on the fenders must go too (if not original).

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

I actually really like the colour combo of black and red. Very period, and the two colours have always gone well with each other.

The bonnet mounted mirrors are of course local aftermarket, though similar units were very popular period accessories, especially in good ol' blighty.

True, but it wouldve been if only the roof had been black while the rest of the car red- which was what was a popular period paintjob on heralds (although not original as supplied by the factory)
The one in "Pati patni aur woh" has that kind of colour combo. Although certainly isnt as good in condition!

I'd rather not dare!

You're his dikra, you can try! Throw a tantrum, refuse to study (if you're still a student) or something! Hehe...

Which looks like it was stolen from MRY 5808 (herald in pati patni aur woh!! )

Jokes apart, 4919 again has the combo done correctly with just the roof in black- which is the right 2-tone combo for fiats as well.
