There could be two scenarios

1. The Car is in your name
just bring the car down, hook up with an agent and he will do the rest (of accesing the value, getting around the system and give you the lowest tax). That way you can drive on both of the states (the one your car is originally from and the second your current location).

2. The car is not in your name.
Get the NOC, bring the car down. hook up with the agent get the transfer of ownership and the tax work done (again at a lower tax). then after that you get the new number. You can further get a percentage of the earlier tax paid back.

In the academic interest of archival, here are some neat early cars at this year's Statesman in Delhi that haven't been seen on the forum before.

I'm no good at identifying them, so Mercedes enthusiasts, please do the honours.

Plus a couple of cars from the recent Jaipur event. I think the 108 was ex Rajmata Gayatri Devi.

@ Mr.Jatti, think that is the dash/fascia/bonnet of the vehicle in which the person who took the photo is seated with attendant flash flare causing confusion, rather than a bumper.May be wrong, though.

Sorry, that's no W123. It's a W115 instead, for sure.

Correct, a W115.
It has also those ugly tailights which were standard on late W115's and often retrofitted on early cars.

Cheers harit

Hi Nandish,

Yes looks interesting! Can you check if its for sale? I like what I see. I checked one out on thursday. It ran good was rebuilt quite well but papers didn't seem right and was a tad to expensive.

Pls let me know if its for sale..would love to lay my hands on it! In the meanwhile came across a 140 - in chennai immaculate condition wanting 7! You interested?

Nice car, but seems external work is required. The side trims all seem to have been removed, the tail lights appear to be "deshi". Colour scheme is not very elegant. Rubber on bumper tied up, maybe damaged and require new rubber. All glasses are down, apparently aircon either absent or not working. The car is LHD and seems to have had an encounter on driver door. Now if she was for sale, a worthy project.

Cheers harit

She needs fair amount of correcting tinwise not to mention sourcing of trim, not to mention needing major suspension and likely engine overhaul. I would prefer a more intact car as a base but if you want to take u a challenge so be it be sure you are going to go the whole yard to make her an accurate rebuild. I recall gogi posted a gold LHD he bought recently she was intact and the kind of example I would go for to start with
