The picture attached was printed from a negative aquired a few years ago. Any clues about the car, the hill in the background? Look forward to suggestions.

Cheers harit

Another picture, this time a Parsi family. Any suggestions on which car and where? Sadly, of so many Parsi pictures shown to other living Parsi's, no identification has yet been made. Lets try our luck this time!

Cheers harit

Perhaps its because the pictures are too small to make anything out. Do get them scanned in higher resolution and enlarge them, we can then see more details.

The car looks pretty large, certainly something nice, perhaps a Mercedes. The previous picture is possibly a 34/35 Buick?

One year later could you dig out this photo? Do try and share. Thanks.

Very nice composition, Amol - an auto-gastronomic delight! Has certainly worked up an appetite yet again in my ever-increasing tum. GPR@D, I pay my respects to you next time I'm in B'bay! The Austin A40 is lovely too (Gurus, hope that's the one?). Gas rules, and runs our lives, everywhere!!

That is an Austin Amol and a great pic too. What a vantage point pic.

The car in the first pic probably an American (Caddy?) and the flat hill in the background looks similar to the table land at Panchgani.

Hi.

It is impossible to actually tell if it is a Willys or a Ford from the picture but what can be said is that it looks highly original with the correct tail light, reflectors, rims and suspension shackles.

The top is however to a custome design.

Do you have any more pictures of this Jeep. Was it petrol or Diesel and what year would this picture be from.

Dear Wasif,

thanks for the response.
The photograph was taken in 1955 -56 as it is me there holding my younger brother's hand.I am now 59 years old.

In those days jeeps were petrol engine models. This belonged to the PWD department of Dhar District in Madhya Bharat .

Unfortunaltely I do not have any other photo of this jeep.

Appreciate your help anyway.

regards,

Uday

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

The wedding car appears to be a 46/47 Ford. You can see a similar car here, still with the first owner.

The Fiat is not a dukkar, but a 58-62 Select, with tail fins.
