Karl, some serious TLC required in your engine compartment, the upper hose pipe seems to have a kink, please have it checked and replaced if needed to prevent overheating.

Well since I brought the car out at the last minute I didn't have a cooperative battery (as usual ) so I came with the Amby battery, on which one terminal came loose twice as I didn't fit it tight. A careless (and dangerous!) oversight on my part.

Thanks for pointing out the hose pipe. There is PLENTY to do on the car, and now that I have it with me in Bombay I'll try getting down to getting things sorted. So much to do, so little time...

Bombay is experiencing some lovely weather in the morning and evening . Taking advantage of that a few of us went for a little spin across the new Eastern Expressway last night ! Cheers And also encountering massive traffic jams due to the wedding season !

Came back from a wonderful drive from Starbucks with a few friends and superb car talk. The weather was not boiling or unbearable for a change given the month that we were in. Every corner of Horniman Circle was taken over by film and camera crew and was difficult to just find a decent spot to park as the other side was just our street cricket. . On the way back spotted the old Chevy suburbia or pick up that's been chopped for a while and seen regularly at shoots . I think it runs a diesel plant now. Met Mr Dhabolkar like every Sunday on his Sunday stroll with the car . Now let a few images do the talking. There was incidentally a VW bug meet also and got a chance for just a few snaps !

And we met again a little early to beat the heat . Some met at the sea-link and headed to our Sunday table at Starbucks fort. We had some wonderful cars and one mordern RR which is fine it's an Roller in the end of it ! We also had a freshly restored beautiful 1960 Impala convertible with a continental kit and was it long !

Great show Kasli, I guess you are the driving force on these drives. Happy to note that the next generation (your daughter) is involved too in these drives.

Bulldogji, your daily driving has been an inspiration to many and I am sure this has given the fellow enthusiasts confidence to follow your example. Your commitment for preservation and use of cars is legendary and I am hopeful you will start inspiring people outside of Mumbai to use their cars regularly too

Collective effort and can't be me alone. The idea for it to all start is to try and get just a handful and everyone realises just from confidence of their cars that it's fun so automatically the politics is out. Venues can be just one or plenty and luckily Bangalore has more than plenty.

Hope the same can be put to working and we can see a nice thread the same way.

The Impala looks awesome, whats its history. Is it a straight six or a V8. There were so many of these in Hyderabad back in the eighties mostly used for marriages.

They were around (opp. Nizam College) even until the late 90s and early half of 2000. But in rather shabby state by then! I guess some were even converted to Diesel then. Those guys even had Heralds used for the same purpose!
They all seemed to have disappeared from there in just a couple of years!

I believe it's a straight six. Although the general impression here is that Impala's came only with v8 engines, a large number were made with the straight six
