While I'm aware that getting hold of a civilian gypsy is difficult, I would like advice from fellow bhpians in Mumbai on the price I should be paying for a stock civilian MPFI Gypsy in good condition. I was going through ads in Olx and Facebook and find stock MG410's being quoted for 3.5 lacs so inputs on pricing and leads if any on any vehicles available would help. I'm willing to pay a fair price depending on the condition of the vehicle
Hey Slipstream, Pune might be a better option to find a gypsy in good condition. Some of the TeamBHP brethren might be able to shed light.

On a separate note, I am based in Chennai with a Gypsy. Where did you get the AC fitted?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Gypsy - Queries

I had this custom built seat in my hardtop with a full length storage box underneath the squab which I used regularly.

Thanks Vapalad. I see a neat AC blower fitted over the B section. Could you post pics of that? Where is the ducting?

Also the grab handle behind the passenger seat. Is it bolted onto the fiberglass frame?

I built the seats myself. Used old santro seats from a scrap yard which fitted the 125cm width perfectly.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Gypsy - Queries

Far out, SJ410, please post front views of seats as well.

valapad's Innova seats look real good, almost too luxurious for Gypsy ! I too am curious about the A/C vents -- are they just blowers or with ducts ?

Any pics of the under-seat box in keroo1099's vehicle ?

Hey guys, has anyone tried installing independent parking brake on two wheels separately. I'm planning one soon. I wanted to know the feedback if anyone has ventured into this.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Gypsy - Queries

Fellow BHPians, need some advice.

A local mechanic mentioned that one can replace the Gypsy dampers with a combination of Scorpio dampers for the front and Bolero for the back. He said its a straight fit and no modification was needed. As the cylinders have a larger diameter, the damping was much better and it improved the passenger comfort.

Is this true? Any idea if it will affect handling?

Hi,

My mechanic had changed my rear dampers to that of the specs for Bolero. He had used the Monroe Shocks that are available (not the Mahindra make). It did improve the ride as compared to the stock setup I had before. I am not sure of the Scorpio dampers in the front. I eventually went for the complete Ironman kit.

In Bangalore, Essar (authorised Maruti Dealer) suggests the Monroe Gas Shocks front and back for the Gypsy. I am not sure of the exact part number, but it retails for around Rs.900 per shock. Many Gypsy owners say that this had improved their ride considerably.

Fellow BHPians,

What would be thr cost of brand new side facing seats of the MG413W. I am not able to find it online. Maruti Service does not stock them either.

Have you tried searching on boodmo?

Another alternative, visit your city junkyard, especially if it has dealers of army disposal Jeep Gypsy, some can guide you.

All the best.

Thanks for the prompt reply Vinod. I am actually trying to ascertain the selling price. I did check Boodmo.

Hi,

I found a post on one of the Facebook Groups, with Puneet of Essar Automotive (Maruti Genuine Spares Dealer in Bangalore) quoting it at Rs.11,300/- for Rear Seat Set with all fittings.

Hello
I am interested in the details of the overhead AC vents in the pics. How did you route the piping? Is it stock blower? How did you split the multiple pipes going into dashboard vents to route the extra piping into the overhead vent? Some piping pics would be nice to see if you care to share.

Thanks!
