Hi guys, I have a friend who is also looking to purchase jeeps from the Chennai auction which is on 22nd or the Pune auction which is on 20th. If any one is interested to buy, do PM me and I will let him know. He's registered in MSTC.

guys! i am hoping to get a jeep in the Pune auction on the 20th.

@experts - need your tips on how much one would end up paying for a 550, and also for the 540.

if anyone is planning to go inspect the vehicles sometime this week, please let me know!!

no enthu

Planing to take your jeep to ladak? lots of gypsies on the list, has the petrol advantage for the high reaches of the himalayas. It would take a min of 3 months to get these into shape for a trip. Gypsies would be more reliable that the 540, but more expensive to run. Go for a newer one even if more expensive, for a smoother engine and lesser rebuild effort.

thanks for the tip, sir! but my first Ladakh trip will be in the Alto!!!
also, since i have just quit my job, i might not be able to take the restoration costs.
the monetary cost would be manageable. the psychological cost - by virtue of the verbal bashing i'll get from my parents and brother - would surely be unbearable
by the way, the newest one available in this auction is from 2000. plus i'd prefer a diesel vehicle given the huge difference in the prices of petrol and diesel!!!

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

If any of you are looking to pick up jeeps in lots let me know , my friend is interested in picking one from a lot of two and the other can be picked up by you. He went all the way to Pune to inspect the vehicles for the last auction. The vehicles are the same so he has a fair idea how the vehicle is .

You can send him an e-mail @ kannanguru86@gmail.com, he'll then provide his number. Just that I did not find how to delete/edit my post, so providing his e-mail.

Moderators: This is not marketing info but just that my friend is interested in buying lots and then sharing it. If you feel this is inapproproate. Please delete.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

There are couple of upcoming auctions happening in Bangalore for the next 1 week. Any MSTC members from Bangalore here or anybody could help me with the details of scrap dealers in bangalore who would be taking part in these types of auction?

here is the link:
