Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

Hey People,

Its been a while i was away from T-Bhp (Ohhh!!! Lord, missed the action in here a lot) but now i am back, and with a hunger of owning, driving the JEEP and pass it on to the next generation!!!

When i sit back and think of those days when i was a kid we had a jeep in my native but then never realised the value of it until recently when i went for a road trip with one of my friend who has a CJ3B with MM 540 engine (as he had some problem with the stock CJ3B engine i believe) was a TREAT. Just the feeling of driving one gives so much of pleasure. I must say its typically built for the people who love driving and not zooom away on the empty roads!!!

For me (personally), if RE BULLET is a headturner even in middle of all these Japs, JEEP too is a headturner in middle of all these "super power SUV's"

After all being said and done, its my humble request to all my friends here, if you are picking up a lot from Auction please count me in. Matter of fact, i need two. A friend of mine, even she is fida on these MEAN Machine and wants one toooo

So guys, PM me but anyways, i am following almost all the possible threads and trying to educate myself with the knowledge of JEEP and the gurus of JEEPS and dreaming of owning one very soon... For now i am glued to these threads and its all about JEEPS JEEPS and JEEPS.

Cheers and Happy Offroading.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

Hi everybody! I seek help from Senior Bhpians if they could clear my dilemma. I have bought a 2001 MPFI Gypsy from Pathankot. I am in the process of getting it registered from Jalandhar (Punjab). Not lot of agents associated with Department of Transportation in Jalandhar seem to know the process of getting ex-army vehicles registered - if not, this is the feeling I got after talking to the one working on my behalf.
I want to know, do I need to get 'No Objection Certificate' signed from army, the place where auction was conducted. Because I spoke to the Salvage people in Pathankot, and they have never heard this process, as it is auctomatically done by DTO office on their behalf.
