Thanks Spike. Had spoken to Sreejesh last week and we haven't struck a deal as yet.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

Hi Guys

Recently visited Junk Yard at Pathankot and saw 1 MM540XD 2006 model and 1 Gypsy again 2006 model, both with a pretty good condition with good body line and clean Engine.

Posting the pics for the same, just to help the fellow Bhpians if they interested in getting some neat and clean vehicles with up model, those who are intersted can let me know, so i can provide you details.

Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?-gypsy2.jpg

this is the only scratches on the gypsy, rest of the body line is totally clear and dentless

Disclaimer : I am not associated with any Junk Yard dealer nor an agent of any reseller, just posting this as i went to find Gypsy for myself.
Maybe some members find it useful.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

sreejeshmp,

I dont have any pics of Engine/underbody, but trust me, its very neat engine ever i saw with any junk yard, no leakage as its just as new as its model is 2006.

Asking price was 3 lakhs, but when i negotiated he was ready for a deal for 2.75 lakhs along with the papers

@ driving always. I have PMed the price of the lot.
Jerrycan,

what would be the cost? Can you please PM the details?

Is it possible to transfer the ownership before restoration and registration?

Transfer of ownership before registration is not possible. One option is you take the stock vehicle, restore it and bring it back for registration.

Sir,
are you planning to bid in any of the upcoming Auctions. Will it be possible for me to pool in, in case some body has already pooled in.
I've been trying to get an Army Jeep for more than a year but have only ended up losing money.

I will not be picking up jeeps for another month. I have 4 jeep awaiting restoration. If people pool in and are willing to restore it themselves, I can help procure jeeps.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

NGCS is goin beyond my budget. So i also would prefer to have a non-ngcs.
There is an auction in Chennai on Dec 1st week.

Jerrycan: can we try our luck in that one?

Will post the dates of auction soon.

The jeep has been restored to its original specs with no modifications.
Tyres are resoled on the original sand cum Highway JK tyres.
The Canopy is a lousy fit from Mayapuri. Will have to do away with it after Registration.
The Registration formalities have been Completed and awaiting verification by Authorities. Tax and Registration Fees Rs.20512.00 + 6000.00 (Private Taxes)

Took Delivery on 22nd Aug 2012, Started working on it during the First Week of September. Just completed the restoration. Denting and Patching took a whole of 45 days.
Engine rebuild, Gear Box Over Hauling, Tinkering and painting, Upholstery, Tyre resoling and Registration has cost me 1.5Lakhs.
