Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

They are 2004 and 2005 models.Need body work,if you are lucky then almost complete parts. You have to spend money to get them road worthy. If i get a chance to go that side then i shall click some pics and post them. There is a white 2006NGCS in a previous post in this thread. It was bought for 2.30 lacs by a person here in Patiala. But his children wanted a new Thar,so he sold it for 1.90 lacs, lost 40,000/-. It had parts missing from the gearbox, and the engine needed an overhaul. I also picked one for 1.85 from an auction. You can see it in a different thread posted by my son Sammy Aulakh headed A new Project: 04Mahindra MM550.Let me know if you need any more info. regards,

Thank you Mr. Aulakh, for the contact details. Some NGCS' came with KMT90 gear boxes. They had the clutch fork on the right side similar to the 540's.
BTW what's the configuration of the gensets you picked up. Did it come mounted on a trailer ?

Regards
Jerrycan

Sir,
Leyland Engines with stamford alternator is proven set. I got to see similar gensets with trailers at the depot in udhampur. These sets are very well maintained.
Many khazanbasthi dealers also deal in army gensets. I'll pm the contact details if you need any.

I still require at least one body shell, but first I'll have to finish the two Ngcs 550s. I'll keep posted on the developments.

Re: Jeeps/Gypsy's: All through Army Auctions: What, When, Where, How?

Sir, are you considering 4 x 4 conversion of the jeep. if yes, can you source the parts for me as well. The axles at South India Motors, though within my Budget, are not OKBJ and FFRA. Please do let me know if you can source me the axle, Housing and the transfer case.

Sir,
I scouted the scrap markets in Mettupalayam, they have 4 x 4 axles, both front and back. But these come without Disc brakes on the front axles. They are quoting 7000.00 for the rear Axle and 10000.00 for the front axle. I am not sure about their condition though.
Thanks
Geje

If you are converting to disc type, you'll have to go for the booster, Hanging pedals, Alterator with pump etc., have considered the cost. Just sell it as it's is and buy an ordinary 550. There is one for sale with Mr. Babbal Chandran. The best parts is, it is registered in kerala. Sreejesh may be able to help you with his contact details.
