The jeep has come out well jerrycan! In the third picture posted, looks like the jeep is tilting towards its left. Is it a problem with the ground level or front suspension or body or is it just me?

I noted that only while i was posting those pictures. There seems to be no problem with the suspension. Should be the Ground level. Further the front two tyres seems to be of slightly different sizes. The tyre on the left is ATF and the one on the right is JK. Both are Resoled.

Your Jeep looks Great Jerrycan.
Are the resoled tyres reliable for offroading. Sir, when you say engine rebuild, do we need to re bore the engine and use oversize pistons or do you just replace the rings.

Regarding the resole tyres, you should use the expertise of the gurus.
Rebuilding the 550 engine, does not involve any reboring. The sleeves, piston, piston rings, gudgeon pins, crank shaft main bearings were replaced. The head was surface ground, the valve and the valve guide seals were changed.

Found an Army auctioned 550 on Trichy Road, near the Honda bike showroom after Alvernia school in Coimbatore, yet to be restored. Jerrycan, was it one of yours?

Sire , thats not my jeep. Isn't it near mahindra 2 wheelers show room on trichy road. It belongs to Rineedh of "Building up Gypsy" fame on facebook. His other jeep is being restored by me.

These are some pictures of the 2000 model 550 (bought along with NGCS) after restoration and registration. The pictures were shot during a test drive(On Road only

) on the Nilgiris between Kotagiri and Coonoor.

The jeep was delivered on 25th Dec 2012 after a full 4 months of bringing it from Avadi.

There is an auction coming up in Avadi with couple of lots of 550, jypsy and bullets. can an indivudal buyer bid for any of the lot ? is it done though online ( MSTC)? if any member who have done direct bid , please let us know the procedure.

I have tried to register my self as a buyer but it is asking fro company name and TIN number.

my interest is in the lot of 6 bullets which is in auction for me and my friends . if some one can bid for us will also be highly appreciated

What is the expected value of a auction bullet?

BTW are these 350 or 500?
Any one good for me.
