Since we were not in a hurry or desperate for the vehicles we have decided to do this slow but steady and get them at a price which is lower than the prices at mayapuri and lower than what i had spent the last time around.

There are a lot of auctions happening alll over the country. Watch out for more updates. In the meanwhile let me know who else wants to team up .

Oh, and by the way, we have an mstc registration with us now and we have the liberty of checking out any auction that we are interested in anywhere in the country.

thanks tharakan. then this would be a 413, bcos my friend said it had 5+1 gear. dont think 410 came in with 5 gears.

thanks ahwajid. what would be the essential difference between a 413 and a king? i have so much to learn! am also attaching some pics i have got. hopefully you guys should be able to get an idea about it (no exterior pics sadly). also, couldnt have been mated with a different gear box, because these is an airforce gypsy and they wont go through so much trouble.

hi zorro. i always was under the impression that the 413 came out only around 1999. pls see if you can make out whether this is a carb king by the attached pics. the engine seems to be in quite a disastrous shape. the radiator and all is missing and so are quite a few other things!

Exactly!!!
I bought a 1.0 Gypsy in 1998 410 HT. and I am pretty sure that they were selling 1.3's (although carbs) at that time but at higher prices.
We also have a jeeper who come for frequent otr in Delhi and he has a Gurgaon registered Carb Gypsy king. I am not sure whether its a 1997 or a 1998 but definitely a King 1.3

i would say look for king its better to avoid this one if you are getting it dirt cheap (25k-30k) then buy it

do you really feel that there's a chance that i can get this for around 25-30k? i thought the army disposals went way above that. yeah, i plan to take it if i get it for around that much. i hope i can get it in working condition by spending around 30-35k over and above the price i get it for. of course, since its a 410, i guess there's no option of getting an aircon fitted.

Thank you harjeev, Zorro4x4, tharakan for the clarification. @driving_always: We cannot trust the airforce people. I bought one Gypsy last year and they had swapped the engine with another one which as good as dead. My advice: please stay away from this vehicle. If its a 410, and not even a 410W, then I dont think its worth it. Also, could you please state why you are going for a Gypsy? I only ask as your concern was whether you could fit an aircon. So far, we concluded that its a 410 with a 5 speed. That means that the transmission is changed. So, I'm assuming that the engine as well as the transmission are no good. Even if you buy this dirt cheap, you will have a tough time sourcing an MPFI Engine + gear box. Not sure, but I dont think this will come within 30-35k (Not sure of the price there in Mayapuri). Dont hurry, have patience. (Speaking from experience )

Good luck mate
