This HP is ok. Popular with cabs, buses & trucks. However, that does not mean that you relax with respect to billing etc

One behaviour I did not like there is the refusal to top-up. The guy did an auto-cut-off and stopped. I did argue with him 2 minutes and showed him that in that time he could have done the top-up too.

I think I was also cheated once at the petrol section for the usual 200-300 bucks.

The other option is IOC bunk in BTM Layout (between Udupi Garden signal and Jayadeva). This one is a COCO.

IOC bunk next to forum is a good one. I have put gas in that few times and always have left the place feeling good. Only grouse being sometimes you have to wait for couple of mins for the card machine.

Though the fuel quality might be good, be watchful with attendants. They are few nuts work there who will give you bad experience

I have been using this outlet from last 6 yrs . The quality seems to be good.
Normally I am vigilant and keep my eyes on the meter. So no episode of cheating yet. The owner is very cordial and normally listens to complain if any.

For some reason its 30-40 paisa cheaper/lit compared to others in the city . The puncture repair shop in the same compound also does a good job .

Indian Oil pump - Near Bagmane, Doddenakundi:

Any body ever had any issues with the quality of diesel there?

I happened to borrow my friends Chevrolet Beat for a weekend, and tanked up while I was returning it. The same day he drove the car to his home and next day also he drove it to the office. The day after, the car refused to start. We thought it could be the water clogging somewhere inside the exhaust due to the rains, and called up the service center. The mechanic came down and said it is the EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) that has gone bad. He had to tow it to service center to get that valve replaced which costed about 15K.

May be not at all related, but I was just wondering whether it was the quality of the diesel that I filled in had anything to do with damaging this component. Not sure at all, just a wild thought.

Shell Fuel Bunk - Malleshpalya/Kaggdaspura

I have been filling petrol in my bike regularly from this bunk. For last two fillings, I see that they by default put v-power (which is costlier by approximately 6-8 Rs). There were a lot of unsuspecting customers in front of me in the queue but one guy caught them doing so and then there was a scene. I generally fill their V-power fuel so not an issue for me but others who like the normal variety should keep an eye.

Not sure about that one .. What is your regular route ?

If you travel on Hosur rd after Silk board jn, then there is Shell there.

Which one is this? Are you talking of the IOCL on the ORR service road between Mahadevpura flyover and Doddanekkundi junction? That one I haven't had good experience with. Avoidable, in my opinion.

The problem is that there isn't another worthy pump accessible from the southbound carriageway of the ORR until the Shell at Bellandur if you skip this one.

This is a COCO outlet and fuel quality is fine, attendants usually ask the customer to ensure meter is at 0 before they begin fueling. The place also has nitrogen for tyres, so a good place for fuel and tyre pressure check/top up.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

Any idea which pumps are good near Yelahanka. As per the forum I have learned to avoid the IOCL at NES Bus Station. There is an HP Pump (Shri Lakshmi Narasimha Service Station) after you turn at the Old Town Police Station on the way to the city, just after RMZ Galleria (the huge building). Any idea if this is a good pump? Otherwise I usually fill up at Shell near the Jakkur Aerodrome.

The HPCL right at the Y-Fork below KIAL expressway too is good (next to Inchara). But the access is not easy as you approach from the ROB. So it works when you are heading towards Yelahanka.

I am not an IOCL fan for no particular reason and its been more than a year that I filled up Diesel at Shell too. So I usually stick to the BPCL and HPCL stations only and in 2 months, I will have to bank upon stations in Yelahanka as I shift base there.

I have been regularly filling from the pump paragsachania mentioned (Highway auto needs) since 3-4 years or so. Never faced any issue. yes, entry into the pump is tricky if you come from Yelahanka side. but you could always fill while on the way.

My friend had a bad experience at Lakshmi narasimha station once when they tried a distraction tactic and underfilled. That was when the pump had lost business while the Allalasandra ROB construction was going on.
