Yeah, noticed that it’s an Aluminum frame and recently saw a Allez Sprint Comp in that same color, hence asked. Awesome color indeed

Just a Velcro strap to hold the brake and stop the bike from rolling.

Yes, tried that as well. But for around 10$ this looked a cheap and cheerful solution

BMC went off earlier this month. Smart looking bike, but somehow the overall setup was not agreeing with me. Not sure if it was the frame/geometry, the handling was a bit jittery for my riding style and over the months noticed that the ride frequency is getting lesser and lesser, just around 1000kms in 6 months. In comparison, I did around 1900 kms on the Trek FX3 in 4 months.

Did not go for road bike yet as I want to ride more and feel comfortable on the roads here before graduating to a roadie. The short rides (30-50kms) are mostly on dedicated paths and park connectors, and go on public roads only if I ride early morning/before sunrise when the traffic is sparse.

Re: The Bicycles thread

Is there any Insurance company in India that offers Bicycle Insurance which covers Theft ?
I am based out of Bangalore.

I checked with couple of mainstream players, but none of them offer Bicycle Insurance.

Could you share some details on this?(duration, price, experience, things covered etc) I have been on a lookout for such a workshop in Bangalore. Couldnt find much details in the google. Does Decathlon advertise these on their website or any other site to track such events?

Re: The Bicycles thread

Update on the Niterider Swift 500 broken light. After BOTS refused to help on broken strap I started using a crudely made strap from nylon string that somehow worked until today.

Got two smallish zip ties, punched two tiny holes in the remnants of rubber strap, opened up what seems like a plastic cap and weaved those ties through the holes. Then I tightened the cap over the ties.

This is how it looks now. Much better stability and infinitely less hideous than my previous solution.

In general though, I'm disappointed in this Rs 2000 light that lasts half of what they claim and the strap is of piss poor quality.

I think. BOTS or cycling boutique has some such online sessions. Recall reading about it somewhere. Better email BOTS.

I guess individual Decathlon outlets have their own FB page, where they announce the store related events.

Just install the AllForSports app or visit https://www.allforsport.in/ . You'll find all events & Challenges from Decathlon there. There are also many great blogs and articles to read.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I have been looking for a cycling group for the weekend rides and was able to find one after subscribing to the weekend cycling event in Decathlon(found it in allforsport site).

Spoke to the Decathlon guy about the workshop and was told that they are planning to have one within next few weeks.

Had joined a weekend ride with them today. Got to know that they have started a initiative called pitstop which is free and open 24 hrs a day for the cyclist to repair the cycle themselves. It seems to have many of the tools available to do a quick repair if you know how to repair .

This is in Mysore Road. I heard them saying this is the first one and they have plans to do it across all other centers in Bangalore.
