Hi prashantuchil,

I am looking for Sound/Vibration damping for my 2021 Creta SXO (which comes with BOSE system) in Bangalore. I see lot of jarring/vibration at the doors with even moderate volume.

I do not see much options here in Bangalore unlike north(delhi/mumbai).. After some research i am thinking to go with Dr Artex Earth Iridium(2mm) or Dr Artex Earth Gold HD(2.6mm)

Do you have any idea where we can procure these in Bangalore. Tried with evo they don't have this.

Appreciate any lead on this or any other good damping setup.

[I had Dynamate Extreme on my swift which was really nice].

Thanks
Naveen

Hi Naveen,
Sorry, I do not have leads on this product. I made my purchase of Vibrofltr online via Indian distributor's Instagram handle. You can research if Dr Artex has some dealers who are in Bangalore or willing to ship.

You can also try - https://www.motorogue.in/dr-artex-ir...10-sheets.html

I had made some other purchase from Motorogue and my experience was very pleasant.

Re: The Damping Material and Sound Deadener Thread

Can some one please suggest me a good place in Bangalore to get damping done on doors and boot of my Seltos HTX+, preferably South Bangalore.

Also what would be the approximate cost.

Re: The Damping Material and Sound Deadener Thread

Even strongly built cars with a thick sheet metal (like Compass or even a Punto) require damping?

Re: The Damping Material and Sound Deadener Thread

Hi!

I am based in New Delhi and drive a 2020 Swift VXi. I am contemplating exploring damping solutions. The objective is to reduce traffic and external sounds (especially the loud pressure horns!). Please note, I do not listen to music while driving and hence do not want to go for any expensive solutions.

Kindly suggest some basic car damping solutions available that fulfill my requirements. Also, it will be helpful if a BHPian can share details about reliable workshops in Delhi and the approximate cost.

Thank you very much.

No escape from that.

Damping will help reduce vibration and resultant noise from the body panels of your own car. If you want that much silence, then may be a Lexus (or which was that premium car which was totally silent inside ?)

You can get a reduction in external sounds and not complete isolation especially when it comes to things like horns of other vehicles. Three layer damping with any butyl/rubber damping sheet would greatly reduce ambient noise and give you a sort of a silence once you shut the doors. For me in both my cars it has made a noticeable difference, although not complete silence. I have used damping sheet under the skin of the door, on the frame of the door as well as the door pad itself to give you an idea of what has been done when I say three layer. In addition to this the roof of my Celerio was making a horrible noise when it rained hence I damped the roof with closed cell foam sheet.

If you really want to explore this option you should keep around 10-15k of budget and low expectations.

Had brought a huge sheet from Aliexpress. This was twice the size of the roof of the Celerio. Unfortunately no Aliexpress now.

Many choices on AMAZON.IN. Choose thickest and biggest sheets, aluminium foil coated closed foam. That takes care of both heat and sound. Or plain butyl foam for sound only.
Also see description to be sure that they are BUTYL and not bitumen.
I had purchased and applied at home three years ago (as mentioned in earlier posts), but that particular item is not available now.
Look for fitting expert locally if DIY is not possible.

Re: The Damping Material and Sound Deadener Thread

I got damping done for my XUV's 500 doors.

Sheet used was Dr Artex Nano 2.0mm. Melting temp of this sheet is 140degrees.

Was initially looking to get 2.6mm but but the audio guy did not recommend high thickness as XUV's door's already have thick sheet it seems.

It took 2 hours for this job with 4 people working on 4 doors.

Thank you @ShubhamMangla and @nitinralli for the recommendation and contact.

Hi, I am looking to get my Fortuner sound damped - and found your post useful. Could you let me know where you got your work done.
Thanks in advance.

Every door was done neatly, and I paid for the hard work.

Hello,

This was done at Vig Auto Accessories at Sector 17 Vardhaman Market. Mr. Tanveer Vig and he doesn't respond well on phones.
He's quite famous youtuber and also a fierce salesman. I would advise you to do all your homework before going here.

Some components are cheaper than wholesale rates and some accessories are extremely expensive.

There is another guy in the same market called Rohit Mehta Sai Accessories. Both of them are good work wise.
