Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Below are the snaps from Xiaomi Mijia 1080p Dashcam.
In Mijia, files are always 2mins long. And it generates 230MB+ for each 2mins file. Its filling within 2-3 days for 32GB card.
I could not install ElectroStatic film on windshield. Hence, stuck the mount itself.

If your floor isn't too high up and the car is visible from your balcony or a window, get a PTZ security camera and aim to directly at your car. Some have up to 20X zoom.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Managed to get a blackvue dr650s for 220usd, seemed like a good price when I checked on Google.

Pls recommend any good accessories guys around BKC to hardwire this cam in a Hexa.

I don't mind travelling far for a good tech.

I am looking for a budget dashcams and that are plug and use. Aliexpress has quite a few and there is a product called A1 mini. Any reviews for that?

If your car parking space is static (you park in same location all the time) and if you are not too high up (say you are on first floor), then you do not need a pan, tilt and zoom camera. It would of course be more expensive than fixed cameras. Bosch is a good brand.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I bought a Yi dashcam that cost me an additional 1550/- in customs duty.

YI Smart Dash Camera International Version WiFi Night Vision HD 1080P 2.7" 165 degree 60fps ADAS Safe Reminder Dashboard Camera

Cost $53.99 without a 32 gb SD card which I had spare.

If you connect a phone that has the Yi camera app from the app store or play store to the cam's wifi adapter (which can be enabled in settings) it will use the device's internet connection to download firmware and set the date and time.

It has an ADAS collision / proximity warning system that's rather too sensitive for Indian city roads.

I had some work to do on my Scorpio's AC that necessitated stripping the dashboard so I had the AC mechanic run the dashcam's power cable behind the A pillar and through the glove box to the USB power outlet.

http://s.aliexpress.com/QZV7JFJ7 is the link to this cam, which I recommend.

Its available in Amazon for 6500Rs. Liked the few videos taken on it by a friend who is using one for few months now.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

My A118C dash cam's sticky mount slot has been lost. What are the alternate ways of connecting the A118C at the rear?

You mean the adhesive came off? If so put some 3M 2 sided tape there.

Or detach it and stick it on some mobile phone mount or the other. That should work too.

I got delivery of my VIOFO A129 Duo GPS dashcam (along with a BT remote) from Banggood today . I was not charged any customs duty.
Similarly I have made a number of purchases from Aliexpress and all came through good except one for which I received a refund.

Yes, it is a security camera with these features and the camera I believe has a built in motor to achieve these objectives.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Can harsh79 or any other experts here be kind enough to explain the differences in gps mount and non-gps mount of the A129 (Pictures preferred). My question arises owing to the fact that I received the camera with "A 129 Duo without GPS" marked on the carton while my order was for the one with GPS.

Does the mount have a Mini-USB port? Haven't seen the non-GPS mount yet.
