Yes, had emailed Razorpay on 24th and got a response to wait for 5 days so that can contact the seller and investigate.

I believe our money is safe.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

4k? Seriously? Are people making movies from their dash cams?

Hmmm... OK, the answer to that is yes, sometimes people do. But in that case, I'd think it better to use a rather more advanced piece of kit than a dashcam.

It is useful when zooming in for a number plate, 4X detail compared to 1080p. That said, the current models are not reliable.

Quite expensive but this one is GOOD and 4K!

https://us.thinkware.com/u1000/

I saw the camera in person installed in a friend's Crysta and the video clarity both during the day and night was crystal clear!!

It also had loads of features too.

Oh, right, I see your point. I'll turn down my scepticism then.

I'm one of those people that forgets that his camera even does video, let alone 4k, which it does. On the very rare occasions I press the record button, I stick to 1080p. A monitor is the biggest thing it will be watched on. Hence my wondering why it would be necessary for a dashcam.

Hey, at least I didn't suggest VGA!

Could you ask your friend to post some videos from the dashcam?

Interesting article on national dashcam laws in Europe:

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Hii guys, those interested, please note, 70 Mai PRO Dashcam is on "Deal of the day" today on Amazon. Good time to pick up if interested.
For a limited time selling for 5,999/- .
Just picked up the same prior writing this post.

https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B07Q85SLCS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Note , this is the pro model but without GPS module.

My plan, now that I have picked it up, is to also pick up the GPS mount separately ( 1499/-)

The GPS module with the 70 mai pro will be installed on the Jazz.

Also have the Transcend Drivepro 220 installed on the XUV.

The non GPS module will be installed on rear of the XUV for long drives and do duty as a rear Dash cam with the 70 Mai Pro.

"Upgraded built-in 500mAh battery is designed for long lasting performance."

Not good in our climate. Models with capacitors should be preferred.

One piece of advise - download & install the 70mai app from playstore or appstore as may be the case to save time when you setting up the dashcam.
The charging wire provided is long enough.

The 128 gb microSD card was accepted by the dashcam and formatted.
Though product description on Amazon says it only supports upto 64 gb, you can install a 128 gb microSD if you wish.

The dashcam works well and supports 128 gb MicroSD card.
Only issue is that if you wish to view the videos, do not use VLC.
With VLC, the videos were fuzzy / snowy & I thought this low budget cam was a mistake.
Then I played the same with Windows Media Player, the same videos were seamless.
Can you please mention which memory card you are using with the 70mai dashcam? Is it 128 GB class 10?

Hi ankan.m.blr.

This is the memory card I purchased.
SanDisk 128GB Class 10 microSDXC Memory Card with Adapter (SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA)

Memory Card

As mentioned in my post, I am still unable to view the videos in vlc. They play flawlessly in Windows Media Player.
Other than that, due to prolonged non-usage of the vehicle, kept the charging cable out of the 12V socket so I reset the date every time I go for a ride to keep battery charged.

Hope this post is useful to you.

Can we know the budget for the dashcam?

Two popular brands in the dashcam area are - BlackVue and Street Guardian.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

The 4K Dashcam 70mai A800 is coming in a few days. Front and rear, both, should be awesome (rear has that sticker type mount which I like). Crowdfunding has started on indiegogo.com (not sure of this site, but I believe they've done this before). My friend has booked a piece, and is in waiting. I'm expecting huge price-offs on the existing range (Hopefully, starting with Prime Day Sale)

*In front-vision recording mode, the max resolution is 3840*2160. In dual-vision recording mode, the max resolution for front and rear view will be 2560*1600 and 1920*1080 respectively.
