Apologies but I have not studied the market but simply looking to upgrade my 5 year old 22 inch monitor.
Full HD on 27 inch is not enough pixel density if you're going to be sitting right in front of it. At the same time, 4k is too much unless you need it for a specific purpose. The resolution also cannot make up for overall quality.

For just entertainment and browsing, consider the somewhat older and discounted Benq PD2700Q
The design/bezels might be a bit dated but this is a 10-bit professional monitor with excellent/accurate colour. You won't find a new panel of this quality until you cross 35-40k.

If going for 1080p (Full HD) then you don't want to go above 24 inches, because the pixel density is not good enough, and the resolution is subpar for the screen size. If you want to go for a 27 inch screen, it is advised to go for a 1440p (Quad HD) resolution for a better experience.

Based on your use-case of just watching stuff and browsing on it without any kind of gaming or content creation, you don't need a monitor with a high refresh rate, but should choose only a VA or IPS panel, not a TN panel.

If you can let us know your budget, suggestions can be made.

Cheers

Re: Computer monitor recommendations?

Thank you guys! @ups_guy, @amien, @joxster

I was looking to upgrade because even after getting a BIG screen tv I end up watching most of my content on my PC, hence thought of upgrading my monitor. Frankly your suggestions caught me by surprise as I wasn't expecting to spend 25k or 35k on a monitor (I looked around and this 4k thing has made stuff damn expensive! ).

I think I am gonna explore a bit and till then hang on to my LG IPS. I appreciate your inputs!

Re: Computer monitor recommendations?

If your use is for coding, then a higher resolution rotating screen will give you many more lines of code in portrait mode. A 4k monitor makes sense then.

Re: Computer monitor recommendations?

If you want to stick to 2K, here is a great monitor from Lenovo. The ThinkVision P27h-20 27" USB-C monitor for about 39K. It is beautiful to look at in person with its four sided near-edgeless display.

I'd not pay so much for a VA panel. Buy an IPS screen instead.

I second that. Please stay away from TN and VA panel monitors.

Re: Computer monitor recommendations?

Saw some dealer kind of guy on Facebook marketplace selling the HP ZR2240W monitor for 4600. He says used like new.

Here is link from HP...

Also Here is the facebook marketplace link..

I don't know how old this monitor is.
I am enticed because it has height adjustment, is IPS 1080p and nice 21.5 inches.

Should I proceed or buy a brand new but then height adjustable new ones are on pricier side.

Why risk something used when a brand new display costs 2k more. As for height adjustability, buy a monitor arm - they start at around 2-2.5k and are way more flexible.

Check this one out : https://www.amazon.in/Acer-144hz-Var...s%2C349&sr=1-3

I picked it up for my son to use on his gaming rig. Very decent quality picture, 144hz works via HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort and a IPS panel to boot.

Can you suggest a specific model? Also the place where I will (if I install) the monitor is tight so I will have to buy that arm using which I can push monitor right near to wall. Something like this.
